Hi All

Just wanted to do an update to follow on from my previous post about MRI results of DDFT & navicular.

I did a lot of research and visited Rockley, spoke to my vet, my vet spoke to Nic etc. Based on the poor prognosis and Dillon and I not being fans of box rest (mentally for him) my vet agreed this was also his best chance, and so he went to Rockley yesterday.

I have just returned from an epic 7 hour journey from Rockley back to Kent (will be avoiding doing that journey on a Friday again!), but I am happy in the knowledge that he is in the most capable hands.

It will still be a challenge to see if he will come right, and I will miss him like mad, but at least mentally he is in a much nicer place than staring at the walls of his stable. Even today after being there 24 hours he was calm, chilled out and quite settled making new friends and exploring the 'track' - much better than his recent behaviour on box rest kicking the hell out of the wall.

Those of you that follow the Rockley blog will soon see pics of him!

Thank you to all of you who PM'd me and those who gave me their advice and experience. I considered everything and I chose the route that I felt was right for me and Dillon.

A friend of mine's horse went down there a few weeks ago and I'm seeing updates via the farm's blog via FB. It looks like a good place and I will keep my fingers crossed for you and your Dillon and my friend's horse. Who knows they may come across each other!

That's brilliant the best place ever....well, i am biased having a Rockley rehab myself that is. My boy Bailey W went to Rockley last July he was there till Novemeber. He is a real success story and is sound again after 2 years of lameness and total dispair. He now does everything he used to, hunts, jumps, schooling and loads and loads of hacking on roads and tracks. And best of all he is happy and so am I. Nic is brilliant and i shall be forever in her debt.......it's horse heaven. Good luck and i shall be watching the blog, in fact i am sure there is a post on there about him already.x

Lainey123 - I have heard lots about Bailey W - Nic speaks about them all!

There is indeed a post, and she has sent me pics of him out in the field tonight. It is lovely down there - I think my biggest worry is that he won't want to come home!

Start planning your winter activities with him:)

And get your foreage analysed in readiness for when he comes home. Have a chat with Nic's partner in crime, Sarah Braithwaite at ForeagePlus......

No sense in undoing Nic's good work when he comes home sound;)
