Those that know my story, I took my horse back from a loaner with a broken leg and scarred legs from previous injury which the girl did not call the vet for. She had lost lots of my equipment and failed to take good care of the horse and failed to call the vet for these injuries. I removed her on the 14th July and since that time the poor horse has been lame and been up and down to the vet college. Having suffered fractures and tendon damage. On the positive note, at least she is still with us, we went through a stage where it was hit and miss whether she would survive.
As time went on and my communications continued to be ignored by the loaner. I decided I would take her to court for at least some of the costs for the veterinary treatment. Treatment is not completed and currently I have spent in excess of 3500 on vet bills and replacing items.
I had the good news that I have received judgement for my initial claim of £1980. I doubt I will receive any money, but at least she will feel the pinch when she goes for a loan and has a CCJ against her name. I felt very strongly that there should be some form of accountability for her lack of care or responsibility. I dont want her doing the same to another horse or person. Which she almost certainly would, as she does not care two hoots for the horse or have any sense of commitment.
