Hi guys, I really want to thank you for all the well wishes we've been getting. It means so so much to me.
I had a phone call from the vet this morning, they started her on anti biotics last night, and they seem to be kicking in as her breathing is almost back to normal. They still can't say exactly what is wrong with her as they're still waiting on test results, though I really don't think it is cancer anymore! So more likely to be pleurapneumonia.
The vets all say she's behaving fantastically and she is being very patient. Apparently surgeons/specialists/nurses/other vets keep walking past her door and saying 'I know that horse, is that Gem?!

' without even seeing her name LOL Gem's famous!

Thanks again everyone, I will keep you all updated!

That seems to be very good news - here's hoping the antibiotics do the trick and she is well and home again in no time.
Bless her for being so good!

So glad you have added an update, glad to hear she has responded a bit, lots of vibes and thoughts for you, hope your keeping your strength up as well

Oh thank god for that, you must be so relieved she is starting to improve. What have they said re the pneumonia? Sorry I don't know anything about it

Thanks everyone, nope I don't think I have met Cydney Green, D. I may have met her but I don't remember the name.
Re. the pneumonia, if it is that, they will have to use very strong antibs and they have said 'if she makes it, there is a 60-70% (I can't remember, they told me this at 3.30 in the morning lol) chance she will go back to the standard of fitness you had her at before' I'm not sure if that's because of the dead part of lung, or the pneumonia, or something else.
Thanks for thinking of me everyone. I am going to see her tonight, and I doubt I will be able to see her again until next Friday, because everyone will be at work all week and I won't be able to get a lift

Awwww poor Gembalina! Give her a get well kiss from me!

Jan told me about her going in the other day. So sorry.

If you want a lift there one evening let me know... although I wont be able to get you over there till quite late as I'm at work til 5.30 and have Maddie moo to do... Allthough with the Lurgey going around I'll probably have to disinfect first too...

** Big hugs **

Thanks Zoe, RVC visiting hours are 4pm-5pm, that's why we're struggling to get there too, I'm just about to go now.
Hows it all going down there? I heard there was another confirmed case? x

Am so glad it sounds more positive.

Also I feel so bad you can't go see her, I know you must want to.
I can take you one afternoon if you want, you aren't too far from me. Just text me xx

I'll send her a message and make sure she gives Gem lots of love for you though!!

Thinking of you both with lots of vibes

xXx
