Well "fluffy" (still has no name!!!) went to her first party yesterday - she did the coloured in hand class at Hadleigh show, for any age/type/sex. It was a strong class, predominantly warmbloods, and all much older than her (she was only yearling - I think the next youngest was an 8yo but might be wrong!). Anyway, she was pulled in 4th and I was over the moon - she behaved beautifully, trotted when she was meant to etc and looked superb. Well, after the judge had them all out etc she got bumped up to 2nd!! The judge said she looked super, and will grow into a very nice horse - she commented that her movement was fab for a "heavier type". The horse that won has won every year since I can remember, and is gorgeous, and beautifully turned out. I was so thrilled - I'd of been happy being 4th, just because she behaved so well, but 2nd against a good class is amazing. There were some snotty comments from other competitors about her being a traditional etc, but I just laughed them off. Next stop, the Suffolk Show in 2 weeks - I am not looking forwards to bath time again!!
