Well "fluffy" (still has no name!!!) went to her first party yesterday - she did the coloured in hand class at Hadleigh show, for any age/type/sex. It was a strong class, predominantly warmbloods, and all much older than her (she was only yearling - I think the next youngest was an 8yo but might be wrong!). Anyway, she was pulled in 4th and I was over the moon - she behaved beautifully, trotted when she was meant to etc and looked superb. Well, after the judge had them all out etc she got bumped up to 2nd!! The judge said she looked super, and will grow into a very nice horse - she commented that her movement was fab for a "heavier type". The horse that won has won every year since I can remember, and is gorgeous, and beautifully turned out. I was so thrilled - I'd of been happy being 4th, just because she behaved so well, but 2nd against a good class is amazing. There were some snotty comments from other competitors about her being a traditional etc, but I just laughed them off. Next stop, the Suffolk Show in 2 weeks - I am not looking forwards to bath time again!!

Well done - that's a great result - have to say traditionals aren't my favourite but your little filly is a beautiful colour - good luck with her in the future I'm sure she will turn out to be everything you are hoping.

Well done!!! So pleased she did fab, and one 'in the eye' for all the snotty comment brigade always puts a smile on my face!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yes, white feather advice please :)

Thank you everyone - I am very happy with her :)

White feathers = lots of hard work, warm water and tresemme shampoo!! They had a couple of washes, then bandaged overnight with chalk powder, brushed out, washed again with warm water and shampoo in the morning, then lots of coat gloss, bandaged again with chalk for the journey, unwrapped at the show, brushed out again and talcum powder applied.

she's really lovely. I love traditionals (have 2) taking my 2 year old to the suffolk so we're probably in the same class! :)

New to this site so not sure how to add pics to thread but have put an album on my page. I've only had them since sept 09, my sister got me into them, she has had one for a couple of years and he's brilliant so now i've ended up with 2! :)

Ooo they are very nice :) Which one are you taking?? It will be good to meet you - I am sure you will pick us out easy enough so come and say hello :) Are you local then? Have a look at the thread about our new riding club - we will be holding some qualifiers for the TGCA :)

She has got the most beautiful doey eyes I've seen in a coblet (usually there a bit piggy eyed) but not her, very sweet indeed.

Cracking confo too I think, great legs:)

Very well done! I took my 2yo trad cob gelding showing yesterday and we got a 1st and a 4th, it's great fun isn't it? :)

Uber well done on making the feather white, my boys were orange at the ends haha! Can I ask, how dirty was she before you washed her? I really need to find some way of making my boy white! Also, when you bandaged her up, did her feather stick out the bottom or do you have a trick for covering it all up?

She's a very pretty girl, I think you'll go far :)
