Hi, some of you may remember my posts with reference to us rescuing a Percheron yearling (Sultan) who was booked to be exported live from France to Italy for slaughter last august.
I just want to update with what is happening with him. For several months now arrangements have been in the process of preparing him to go to his new foster home in Oxford.
Next week he will be fostered by a boarding school who are going to use him to continue raising awareness for the Ilph's campaign against live export.
We have waited for Sultan to settle after being castrated and for his neglected feet to resemble something normal and his vaccinations to be carried out.
The boarding school has made great efforts to prepare for him by getting a field shelter up for him and his companion and post and rail fencing to replace barbed wire.
A teacher at the school is an AI, she looks after the horses with some of the older pupils at the school, they have lovely equestrian facilities.
I know some members on the forum have voiced their concerns over us rescuing Sultan but i can assure everyone that we are truly commited to this 'big boy' and his purpose in life could not have been better.
They hope to drive him one day, which will be lovely.
I will keep posting an update with regards to his progress.
We are going to miss him so much, he is such a love
