As some of you know in mid February I had a nasty fall off a baby. At first I was told I would have to be in bed for six weeks in hospital and that riding would be out the picture until June/July.
Well... 11 days later I was out of hospital, and am now having physio 5 times a week, as well as access to a hydrotherapy pool. The doctors are pleased with my post-op xrays which show much quicker healing than expected, and my pins are looking good. SO, they've told me I have to be on crutches, but can now slightly weight bare, until April 25th, and after that date I can begin riding again!
This gives me three weeks of preparation before the Under 18 Championships at Chepstow. I can fit in an IN run at Aston-le-Walls a few days beforehand too. I'm in a very lucky position in that the horse is being kept ticking over and fit, and my trainer will take him on in April for more schooling too. I've also been given free gym membership by my local sports centre (!) so at the start of April I can start getting my own fitness back. Add to this the free psychology sessions I've been given with Nicky Heath, (Pippa's sport person,) and the two new hats I'm getting from Champion because they heard that my hat had cracked open... and I'm *hopefully* well on the way to Chepstow, and then *hopefully* two star qualifications!
The only problem is that we will have to pay the massive entry fees etc before I've even started riding, and since one of the bones I broke was my bum bone, sitting is pretty painful! But I'm sure in another month it will be fine!
(Having written this down will probably be the kiss of death now!
