The vet came back out this morning to remove the bandage and have a good look at the cut.
The vet was fairly certain that it was down into the joint on his first visit but after having a look today he thinks we have been lucky and the fluid that was coming from it on Thursday was just a bit if serum from where the blood had clotted and not joint fluid afterall
He was still a bit concerned that the hock was still swollen, but he had put 50mls of saline solution into the joint to flush anything out - but as it wasnt down to the joint the saline was still in his leg so that has been drained - again he is fairly certain it was just saline but has taken a sample to make sure its nothing nasty.
SO, after one week of owning him and him having about 12 hours in the field before he damaged himself
he has been allowed to go out!
yay
He isnt lame but i just have to keep an eye on him in case he does go lame - but that would mean bad things - so fingers crossed my pony is now on the mend!
And a pic just because he is cute!
