I know. I'm still wondering how on earth I can be three years old AND be acting like a couple of two year olds all at the same time!! Luckily Shilasdair's translation shows 'losser' = LOSER, which is not quite what I thought at my first attempt at trying to figure the post out!!

If the poster thinks that my posting style is that of a three year old she really ought be showing a lot more concern about her own......I did tell her she should take your advice & learn to spell check as well - but there's no helping some people is there!!!

personally think that anyone hacking on the road should carry a whip - it's got me out of trouble on more than one occasion by a spooky horse spooking at something in a hedgerow! quick tap is enough to make them more quickly back the other way - a leg wouldn't do that as quickly.

I use artificial aids - martingales, spurs, whips if needed on my pony. i use them as and when required not all the time - and i use them correctly.

Just because i carry a whip does not mean i am going to start wildly beating my pony. Now because i wear spurs am i going to start kicking her wildly and tear her sides apart.

I'm very surprised with your strong feelings you managed to work with racehorses as you have said in the quote above - obviously as on the track all the jockeys carry and use their whips. And with show ponies too many of them are trained with artificial aids to help their tiny riders. Showjumpers too - nearly all of them wear spurs (sorry to generalise) and carry whips.
