User names (How are some pronounced) :D

LOL - not much trouble pronouncing my name! :)

It is my labrador's KC name - although as LizzieJ pointed out recently his name is actually Ravenswood - so I missed out the "s" without even realising for 5 years!!! :o
 
Mine is the Pratchett character

Terry Pratchett writes on the terrypratchettbooks.com forum: "it's Ang as in Anger, you as in you, a as in a thing."

and 2 as in too (since the forum wouldn't play nice) and I thought it was a good prune on words..... sorry pun
 
I was boring old Sunnymum when I first joined and hadn't realised the fun people had inventing user names. Now I'm Box_of_Frogs, pronounced exactly like that, after a friend at my yard told everyone that I was as mad as a box of frogs and I sort of like the ... erm ... individuality that implies. I got a sweatshirt printed with my username on it and was minding my own business filling the car up at a Tesco garage, when the bloke at the next pump shouted, laughing, across to me, Mad as a box of frogs eh???? Yup, that's me!
 
Mine is pronounced 'bri-hettais'. Guess eveyone thought it was the awful rabbit song...

I got caught out by Hermangerman, and also by one or two above. I thought I was pretty good with reading! Or is that Reading?

There's another one and I think it's a bloke, who needs to get his name sorted too. I'll find this thread again and post it, when I remember!

And actually it is the regular pronounciation...

Easy peasy :D My name is Toni and ever since I was little someone I know has called me Tonitot, which then led to me nicknaming her daughter Daniedot :p
 
ElphabaFae - El-Fa-Ba-Fay

From the character Elphaba aka the Wicked Witch Of The West from Gregory Maguire novel Wicked. Fae is from the nickname she earns from her lover :)

I`d say Ae-vee-n if that makes any sense....
I`m a Siobhan so the bh is definately a v...... so many people pronounce it wrong :)

Anyway my username

Ayla = Eye-la My girls name and 84 because its my year of birth...not very original :)
 
FrodoBeutlin is Frodo's registered name, his breeder was clearly a big Lord of the Rings fan.

Beutlin is the translation for Baggins in the German versions of the LotR books, when I told her Frodo (the character's) real name, as invented by Tolkien, is Frodo Baggins, she was shocked, she thought the Baggins were Beutlins throughout the world, not just Germany :D

Anyway, Frodo is the same in English, while Beutlin (Beutel = bag, those translators did a good job!) is pronounced BOYT-lin.
 
Taffyhorse - well nuff said really...

I'm not very creative and this is all I could think of on the spur of the moment - and yes, he is my horse and he is called Taffy...

Oh, no!! I am sooo lazy! I never even read your name properly and have always called you Eff-nees!!:o:o Don't know how I got it so wrong! Maybe you should change your name to Efnys, then I won't look so bad!:D

Oh and mine is chickeninabun pronounced chicken-in-a-bun!:D 'Tis derived from a pet name I give to various things (dogs, cats, horses, children, husband) of "chicken", then I saw an amercian diner type place that was serving chicken in a bun (a chicken burger) and things just snowballed from there.
There is a certain member of this forum who likes to call me "chicken-bum" but that's a whole 'nother story!!:o:D
