Our horses are vaccinated regularly having Tetanus & Flu jabs. These are all noted in the Passports. We attend BS Shows & BD Shows but have never had to produce a passport to either verify inoculations are up to date or that the horse we are entering is actually the horse we say.

Has anyone on here ever had to produce passports at a show?

every time when I competed BE, not sure if that's the same now as I gave up years ago :o

But I was pulled for random dope testing at a BD area festival this summer and was pretty glad that I always took the passport out with me then, as it was requested and examined thoroughly!

Relatively regularly. Our RC at area level everyone is checked, the driving shows either everyone or spot checks are done, I think TREC check vax, FEI we give them in and they're scanned before they're let off the box. Most officials a pretty humourless so you'll never be caught 'wrong' twice!

BRC are incredibly strict on passports and vaccinations. Whenever we hold competitions and remind people it's a BRC rule that horses must be presented for passport checks they always moan they never have to at any other competitions. BRC say it's to promote welfare, which is great but given they're aiming at the very amateur end of the scale, you'd think the more 'professional' associations would do the same.

Yep BRC are really strict - which was a nightmare when I took my RoR to nationals and the vet couldn't read the French vet's (French TB) handwriting so tried to say she hadn't been started correctly - given that she was 8 and had raced 4 times, Wetherby's happy with the paperwork etc was a little stressful!
BS it's usually only when you go to an international show and/or champs that you get checked.

Yes - at BS, BE, PC and National finals. And the LHC. But no-one has gone so far as to check that the horses we have with us are also the one described on the passports. Just that we have the passports and LHC.

Never at BD, had it checked at RC team, ROR champs for the stabling at Aintree and at HOYS. Before HOYS I checked it endless times and even had the vet check it as was paranoid there may have been something missed in the past!

I never have although I always had it with me and that was attending County Shows and breed shows. I know that RC are very, very strict. I know someone who was travelling with broodmares to a stud and was pulled over and had to show the passports.

Hoy's only. No checks done at RIHS or Royal Windsor which was quite unbelievable and worrying given that both are international shows.

Only a couple of times when racing, and only once at an endurance comp when it was at a racecourse. Never other than that. Hoping to do some BS and BE next year, so it will be interesting to see if we get asked.
