Hi All I am new to the Forum and really need some advice (apologies if this is in the wrong place).
Now for your advice I Hope
I have been on my current yard for 6 years and 3 years ago It was sold to new people who kept everything the same.
I have no written contract.
Now they have decided to lease the yard to someone else. The new manager is totally changing everything on the yard and it will no longer suit me so I am going to leave at the end of the month which is when I am paid up to.
Here is now my problem. The yard owners told us on Tuesday they want to rent the place but they won't make a decision for two months. The very nect day the new manager arrived issued us with a 5 page rather rude and condescending Letter and yard changes. The letter stated and he stated verbally that changes will begin from the following day Wednesday even though he does not take the lease until 1st October. He informed me that while we are at work fields will be changed to group turn out while our horses are in them.
I have since pointed out that I am paid til end of the month for current services so is unfair to make changes. My field will be left as is until then and I will move that day.
I pay monthly and I know a month notice would be correct under a verbal contract.
My Questions if anyone can advise
I never made a verbal contract with the new owners as they never spoke about it?
I feel the verbal contract I had with the old owner if it just rolled across to the new owners that they have already broken the verbal contract by making large changes within 24 hours notice. In short if they don't give me 4 weeks notice why should I give it to them. I will move on my last paid day.
Is that out of order?
