Very fat pony Lame???

I take it this pony is for your daughter? How do you know after what could be many months of treatment for the 'overwieght-ness' he will be suitable? I still believe the old owner is laughing all the way to the bank on this one.

Completely agree

Christ almighty what a car crash thread.... There are just no words! :(

Ha ha. I know, I feel like faking my own death after all that! OP, on a more serious note I think you need to get a second opinion on the pony from a specialist equine vet, preferably before you buy the pony. I have never known a horse be lame simply due to being fat. Yes, bring overweight can exacerbate a lameness problem, but i doubt it is the sole cause. Think about it in human terms - there are plenty of obese people but not all of them are hopping lame.

Been lurking on this thread for a while now.

Can't make my mind up if it is a troll or not, so

If you're not a troll - Get a grip on yourself, a proper vet and either don't buy the pony until you know a lot more about the basics of horsecare, including diseases and ailments, or buy it and be prepared for hard work, large bills and a possible unhappy ending if you're not prepared to listen to those who do know what they are talking about or to care for your pony as it needs to be cared for

OR

If you are a troll - clear off and stop winding people up!
