VERY happy Hackers!!

Lovely post - just the sort of thing I'd have enjoyed had I not lost my nerve!

Yes absolutely mirror this - that is my next task to happy hack again, all the lessons in the school achieving great results but that doesn't make me any more comfortable to hack which is sooooo frustrating!! Well done ladies, us older girls need to have fun!!!

It won't stop an accident but deals with it effectively if it does, what else apart from sit indoors or sell my horse can I do?

Please excuse the slowness of my cob, but with his diving boots for feet he had no chance against my friend's "posh" TB/WB ;)

Now that looks like great fun!
Oz :)

HOW could you suggest such a thing? What about the strain on the poor couch hmm? Hmmm?! It could get an RSI!:mad:

Seriously, the levels of irresponsibility on this thread are SHOCKING!

:p

I agree, not to mention the risk of suffocation if you were to nod off on those soft fluffy cushions - totally irresponsible!

RIGHT!

Toys outta the pram....I am OUTTA here!

~..but sneaks back in 3 seconds later....~

:P

I had a lovely hack today, just me and the rather spooky Appy:) We were only out for an hour and a half, but went on the newly surfaced track, which we had to negotiate a rather busy road to get to. The mare is not frightened of traffic, but can be somewhat frightened of bushes, plastic bags, sheep that aren't the ones she shares the field with, tarmac that is a different colour from the rest of the road, puddles with sunshine on them etc. etc. etc.
The tracks have no gates on them :p but we still upped the pace a little :) And we came home safe and sound. I have never competed for my national team in anything, but in about 40 years of horse ownership I have only twice returned from a ride with an injured horse, both times were with the first horse we owned and both times we splatted on the road (I am sure both incidents were my fault, but I have learnt a lot since then). Over the years I have cantered on tracks, grass verges, through woods, all sorts of places (once or twice involuntarily even on the road!). Each to their own and long may we all enjoy ourselves :)

OP how dare you have fun with your horse???

:D

(read the bottom of page one and almost died laughing@ the "champion snob.." (who btw was joking?? i havent read past page 2)

hope yo u had fun OP - i lost my nerve out hacking on my last psycho horse - hope to go back out hacking next spring :)

Actually....thinking about it....I am a competition rider.

Ok...I once came 5th in M+M ridden on my daughters pony.....but it was a competition and I got a rosette which wasn't a special.:D

So....as a competition rider I can categorically state.....that hooning around the countryside is highly recommended for both horse and rider.

(Caveat: Just don't do it down the middle of the main road into oncoming traffic.;))
