Pointless post, but it was so exciting (but terrifying at the same time!)
My friend's horse P was moved into Morris' field (which he shares with his best friend T) yesterday. Now, T is notorious for being a bully in the field, but we thought P would be fine as Morris is very quiet in the field, so would look after P (Morris is too big to be bullied by T!).
So P was put in the field with the other 2, and all seemed fine apart from P being separated a bit, but this seemed normal for the 1st day.
Anyway, i was catching a friend's pony today, when a stranger drives up and tells me that a horse is loose on the road!
T had driven P out of the field and P had jumped the gate (nearly 4ft) and the cattle grid (at least 5ft wide) and was cantering up and down the fairly busy road outside. Thankfully, traffic on both sides of the road had stopped and given him lots of room, and someone had got out and was trying to catch him. I shouted to the YO and leaped over a fence and legged it over a very big (and muddy) field. Just as i reached the fence next to road, YO drives round and jumps out of the car and catches P - and steals all my glory!! I was absolutely shattered and could barely breathe! Anyway, we caught him and led him back up the road.
Needless to say, T has been moved into a field on his own!
I just had such horrible visions of him reahcing the roundabout at the end of the road and ending up on the bonnet of a car! Especially since my horse could have been part of the reason why he got onto the road in the first place.
Sorry for the long, pointless post, but it was so exciting and dramatic i just had to tell someone!
