Hi guys, I enjoy reading all these threads so decided to tell you all what I’ve been up to, my horse Barney I’ve had for 6years and only done hacking and a little bit of hunting, a friend has been helping me exercise him for the last 6 months through lockdown, I’m 70 so I don’t do any jumping and have no transport. Cut a long story short, Sian asked if she could take him to the ’have a go’ day held 10 mins away at local manor park. So we put in lots of work improving canter work, jumping any logs out hacking We could find, me on my bike Sian riding Barney. I had a pair tri jumps so with some half pallets made a xc jump. Day arrived and we entered the 80cm SJ AND XC now Barney has never SJ in his life ive known him since he was broken and he only ever hunted, and he is blind in one eye so we didn't know what to expect well he went above and beyond in his honesty and boldness, it was a beautiful sunny day on 17th April He cleared the SJ and attacked the Xc with gusto, I was so proud of him and Sian. Here are some photos from the photographer on site for you to share.
