Well, finally got to the yard this evening, after being stuck in traffic. All booked in for a jump lesson.

But, found out tonight, that Horlicks has now been sold :(

She was offered to me, but I have just taken on a new job, so need to concerntrate on that first, plus until I am earning a bit more, I cant keep horse on full livery, which I would need to do really.

I was totally gutted. My lesson was on Horlicks tonight, so made the most of it, but had a little cry in her stable when I put her to bed.
I know she was not mine, but I treated her like mine, and mucked her out etc. I will be lost now.

I will love you always Horlicks, you taught me so much:

Oh my god so sorry to hear this. I know how much she means to you. Everything happens for a reason though. Let's hope a happy new chapter opens in your life now and cherish the memories of the gorgeous Horlicks xxxxxx

Oh Lippy I'm so sorry, I really hoped she wouldn't be sold until you were in the position to buy her :( :(

Will she be staying on the yard?

I really feel for you :( It happened to me when I was younger. I loved a little mare called Marie, she was brilliant and really helped me improved and was my first ride out alone.
I just hope Ned doesn't end like that too, his owner said she'd only sell him to me, but I'm still worried!

I'm so sorry to hear about what happened, it's so unfair :( *hugs*

She'll have been a lucky horse for having you in her life Lippy and celebrate everything she's given to you :) and while you'll never forget her I'm sure another as lucky horse is lined up for you in the future

~Your posts under your old user name where what first caught my interest on this forum, that and Papafritz posts about the young foal.

I always hoped your other half would be able to find someway of suprising you one day.

Bad luck, but I will be honest, if i could i would rather my gingerwitch was out being loved by someone else than in the great round up in the sky.

good luck, you never know what is around the corner

What a shame - I can understand how sad you are feeling but remember that you never know what is round the corner.

I'm sorry to hear that, I've been there and it is horrible but try not to dwell on it. Much as she was your much loved riding school favourite she wasn't really the perfect horse for you to buy. Hang tight and in time things will work out for you for the best. I've got my lovely perfect mare now and wouldn't swap her for any of the many riding school horses I have loved over the years.

At least as she is staying at the same yard you can keep in touch. But I am sure that before too long the perfect horse will arrive at the perfect time.

If thats her in your photo she is Gorgeous! Someone is very lucky!!! Hopefully they will adore her as much as you do, its awful to have a horse on your yard which you adore to find it treated badly by some spoilt brat! Not that I am talking from experience of course............ :D
