Very thin people on horses?

Fabulous thread :D
I am currently stuffing my face with chocolate in horror...there is a hefty breeze out there and I really want to ride today!
Spudlet...you can ride as a ginger person, I just checked the rule book, unfortunately though you are limited to animals of the same colour....to avoid clashing of colour and/or personality...apparently  :p :D

AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!! Sorry, choking on my compulsory after lunch rolos!! :)

Now where can I get these amazing peperroni weighted aids? And is there something available to keep me attached to the horse while leading it to the field to prevent the inevitable flying along horizontally while holding the end of a leadrope, the other end of which is attached to my 20hh ShireX? :)

Try www.toothintoride.com there is loads of useful stuff. Just picked up a pair of weighted boots, lead helmet and weighted wrist bands. All for about £456.99. Bit of a bargain really.

Dont you also have to have a man walking in front with a flag to warn the unsuspecting public?

Luckily yes! The pepperoni's have weighted socks that you wear under your boots to help with this issue. However, they also recommend that you buy levels 1-3 of their program (Can be bought at bargain price of $1000 for all 3 as part of a special deal with the socks) as if you are flying horizontally it is not because you are skinny, but because your horse does not love and respect you

OK, am now kitted out in weighted boots etc and have my branded pepperoni socks on. Now I just have to spend the next 3 years getting 'Killer' my ShireX to love and respect me.

OMG  Gingers are allowed to ride!???? You should be ashamed of yourself, think of the cruelty! Your poor horse!!! They must be suffering terribly from all that embarrassed cringing - makes me sick.

I've banned DH from riding, in case a horse is accidentally blinded by the glare from his bald spot when he takes his hat off..........

Its the generaly falling standards I blame. In the good old days a dressage rider actualy took his hat off to salute. This gave the judge ample opportunity to spot dodgy gingas and baldies, and adjust the marks accordingly. Now it seems anything goes!:mad:

Its perfectly acceptable for gingers to ride, you just have to make sure your horse glows more than you do!!!

People are to busy looking at the glowing beast to even notice!!! Honestly!

I believe its more unacceptable in society for gingers to date gingers.......!!!!

About time there was some cheekyness back in the forum!!!! :p

We seem to live in a day and age where you can't breath without offending someone, People take themselves far too seriously nowdays. I think it's good to have some banter now and again.;)

DISCLAIMER: HappyHorses:) will not be held responsible for any offence taken by anyone to any of her posts ever. :p

fat, thin, ugly, beautiful,gay,2 headed, what the hell does it matter-i'm sure the horse/pony doesn't give a stuff- can these threads just die and disappear, surelythere are more interesting topics to discuss??

Hey Bessieboo, Is th bridle meant to match the saddle? Is it supposed to match your boots for hacking? Is it not ok to go hacking with holey jods/muddy boots/dirty horses? Do my horses know or care?

Err.... not only skinny and ginger but OLD too

and I am traumatising my fat ponies daily by riding them in tack that doesn't match:D

I'll get me coat.....

Rangerover I am not sure if that matters or not. All I know is that I turn up and ride in whatever is the first thing I lay my hands on in my riding gear drawer.

My bridle is the same colour as my saddle but that is only cos that's the way I got it when I bought my horse.

Like you have have holes in my jods and tops. They are within seconds of arriving at yard covered in mud and slobber (and that's just from me!).

The only thing that I am totally anal about is how clean my horses stable is and how clean and well kept her feet are.

Well I don't have either a Jack Russell or a Labrador. I have an Alaskan Malamute, can you imagine how many people were pointing and staring when we went to Mattingley? It was embarrassing. Awful, just awful.

My body protector is made of lead to keep me on my horse and so he knows I'm there! :D Wait no wayy I have a buck teeth aswell and I'm a midget!!

Anyone want a 14.3 Appaloosa? ;)

 I've been riding 13 years and i havent blown off yet! i think i need to invest in some weights because its bound to happen soon!

This post has given me insight into some weird pony behaviour i experienced yesterday. When i steered the pony at a set of trotting poles she decided she would jump them instead! no prompting from me at all. Perhaps i'm just kidding myself and she has no idea what i'm doing with my weight / that i'm even there and she just enjoys trotting around the arena and jumping things i have set up.:D
Once a larger lady rode her and since she is used to my weight she turned round and looked at the woman on her back like .... 'Do you really have to ride me? :( now i actually have to do some work'
