Its the generaly falling standards I blame. In the good old days a dressage rider actualy took his hat off to salute. This gave the judge ample opportunity to spot dodgy gingas and baldies,and adjust the marks accordingly. Now it seems anything goes!![]()
Problem was this created a shortage of dressage judges as they all had to retire from the stress of being exposed to the gingers and baldies. Those that remained were so visually impaired that they couldn't tell a serpantine from a shoulder in....... BD had to insist on hats with harnesses to protect the judges, they dressed it up as rider safety of course, but it was to prevent the judges from being exposed to the horror of what was lurking under those hats!
