Vibes for little Jessie please

It does sound like some home comforts would be more restful/relaxing for Jessie if she can manage without the feeding tube. Strange that the test results aren’t back yet so that both you and the vets can make a management plan. Hope you get some answers very soon. Come on Jessie, we’re all rooting for you 💕.
 
People underestimate the mental toll on animals and how it impacts the healing process. I had a wonderful Guinea undergo a huge 3 hour op on her bladder, the vet said her prognosis was very poor but she would be better off at home with me. She slept on my chest the entire night and to the vet’s surprise was perky the next morning, she was really expecting her to pass away. We visited the vets daily for nearly a week but she recovered and lived many more years. To this day I think being at home saved her and so did the vet. She became a real diva after that too!

I really wish you luck with your poorly dog. It’s so stressful is t it. Keeping everything crossed.
 
Well so far so good. Yesterday afternoon they removed her feeding tube, she ate a fair sized meal and had a good drink, wee and poo. We didn't even have to ask could we take her home, they suggested it might be better for her to have a few days at home. I guess they were seeing the same thing we saw, depression and lethargy was setting in I think. The biopsy results came back as all good. So no explanation as to why she has the ulcers so from now on we just treat her for ulcers until and if anything else shows up. She is to go back after Easter unless she goes downhill again before then, in which case we can take her back anytime day or night, which is very reassuring.

Anyway she is here, feeding and drinking by herself, although I did have to hand feed a little this morning to encourage her and getting her meds down her was easy enough with little bits of chicken. she is very needy and has to have at least one of us in the room with her, although she slept in their normal place last night without complaint. She seems to have little bursts of energy and then is absolutely shattered but vet did say some of the meds could make her sleepy.
Jem was absolutely giddy to see her and I have to say Jessie was also very happy to be reunited. Jem is sticking to her side like glue, but I have the feeling Jessie is finding her a bit to in her face. The big eejit is bouncing all around her, careful not to actually knock her but she can't seem to understand why she won't have a good old wrestle or a chase me. ☺️

Really pleased the biopsy results were all good, and that Jessie is eating, drinking and pooing. She must be SO pleased to be back in her own home,
and a bit of sympathy for Jem , bless her!
Hoping very much that everything now continues in a positive trend 🤞
