Vibes for Little Jockey Needed - Not a great start to the season!

Little Jockey took Millie to the opening meet today, it was Millies first time Hunting (went Cubbing for the first time on Thursday). All was going really well until Millie stopped at a fence, the horse behind was out of control/couldn't stop in time and went crashing in to the back of them which somersaulted Millie and Little Jockey over the fence. Little Jockey cracked her head on the very solid fence and somehow injured her leg on the way over (think it may have been caught between Millie and the fence

).

We didn't see the fall as we had lost the field but I think she was very lucky that Millie or the horse that followed them over the fence didn't land on her. She was covered in blood and taken off to hospital where she had her head glued back together, checked for concussion and kept in for a couple of hours observation. Luckily she didn't have concussion and her leg isn't broken, just very bruised.

Any spare healing vibes would be great, hopefully she will make a quick recovery and will be back in the saddle soon

By heck!! definitely not for the faint hearted! I wanted to go hunting but think I'd struggle to hold mine, thought it would be too dangerous for us, but reading this, I now realise it would be dangerous for others too!

My instructor had a similar incident... the horse infront stopped at a large hedge, and Jackie ended up jumping over the horse and the hedge!!

Yes Millie seems fine, there was some blood on her hind leg but I think that was from LJ as I couldn't find a cut

I had to lead her a couple of miles back to the box and she was happily trotting along, I think she would have happily carried on.

Jobo - No I don't think it will put her off. On the way home she said she would have got back on and carried on for the rest of the day if we would let her, as she could hardly string a sentence together that was not going to happen!

SU - Apparently the person did stop (she may have even fallen off) but by the time we had got there it was just LJ and a very kind lady who had stayed with her, holding both Millie and her own horse whilst trying to look after LJ who couldn't stand up without falling over through Dizzyness. I was quite shocked by this TBH!

Surely it is common decency and manners to help clear up the mess they have caused. I would be seriously grumpy and ranty.............

I'm not sure to be honest. The more I think about it the angrier it makes me, the lady who stayed with her luckily knew her and she was not happy with the lack of support she was given. She wasn't even there when it happened but heard there had been an accident so came back. They were near the back of the field so a lot of people didn't realise she had come off I don't think! I'm obviously not LJ's parent so don't think it's down to me to complain, weather her father will or not I don't no. I think he is just relieved that it was no worse

I don't hunt and have only followed a few times so I thought it was common practiced for the rest to carry on, maybe not though?!

I don't hunt either but certainly wouldn't carry on if i had been involved in an accident with a child - just common courtesy I would have thought. Still as you say its up to her parents.
