Hi,
I'd like to replace my warm but plastic mountain horse riding boots this winter. Hoping you can suggest something! They don't need to be up for yard work as I always change before getting on and after riding. I would like full length leather boots that are WARM. The warmth is really important as I get such cold feet! I don't like dubarry types, something that is a riding boot and looks like a riding boot is what I'm after.
Any ideas? I do love the insulated ariat bromonts, but they are super £££ and with them being very thin I wonder how warm they would be? These harry hall ones look nice, anyone have them? http://www.equestrianclearance.com/matchmakers/harry_hall_finlay_boots/index.html#placeholder These are nice too, but look rather bulky? http://www.equestrianclearance.com/-just_togs/jt_huntsville_riding_boots/index.html
Thank you loads!

Pinching some of Mrs M's hot choc on this drizzly morning to say thanks!

Sounds a really stupid question, but are they leather, I can't tell from the pics! I would rather leather ones as the MH ones I currently have rub my heals to bits as they don't soften with wear at all. At least if leather ones did that I could do something about it!

Bromonts are well woth the cash - mine have served me wel for over 3 years now and not a cold toe in sight still to this day :-)

Price per wear and all that

Oh dear, I was hoping you weren't going to say that! They look gorgeous but are so expensive! I'd really like some exactly the same that are about half price! I am slightly wary of ariats though as OH had some of their paddock boots and despite being ever so carefully looked after the leather across the foot wore through really quickly. Have you experienced this at all?

I haven't, no, but I do know that this has been an issue with some Ariats. However, I can honestly say that the Bromonts are worth every penny if you want warm and comfortable and Ariat's customer service really is excellent if there are any problems (I had a broken popper tab on one of mine and they sent me a new pair of boots with no issues at all!).

Sounds good then! Did you manage to find anywhere with them under £210, there must be places that do them cheaper, but I can't find any good deals at all!!

Definitely consider the ariat h20 insulated bromont long boots. So warm and because of the soft leather take no time to wear in at all. The best i've certainly ever had, and not that expensive for good long riding boots.

Do you like Ariat Grasmere boots? I got some off ebay £150 brand new with box and boot trees RRP £230ish. Lovely and warm and so comfy. I do like the Bromonts too but already have a "posh" pair of boots that I love.

Love my Ariat Bromonts, the insulated version. I bought mine for about £150 brand new from the USA when they were just out (were slightly cheaper from there). They're waterproof as well which IMO is so practical for horsey stuff. I keep mine just for shows but they still look brand new and my feet have never been cold in them.

I've got these - the Hubberton in brown. I bought mine last year, have lasted well, wear them for all my riding over winter, and would recommend even if you're not on a budget. They are VERY comfy. They have similar ones on Fleabay too, but cost more I think.
