I know it’s probably been done to death, but I seriously need some warm riding boots for hacking.

My feet get that cold, that when I jump off it’s painful. ??

I have boots for schooling, and don’t have a problem as we are moving/working more. But hacking, oh dear!

Ive tried thick socks, heat holder socks, have lambs wool inserts and no different. Help

I'm an inherently cold person, I have battery powered socks for cycling :p
I've never had colf feet in my grasmeres, they are about 8 years old now.
(usually with silk socks then medium thickness long heat holders)

yeah ariat insulated boots of whatever variety you prefer are pretty good I'd say.
i have had insulated Bromonts before and i now ride occasionally in my Connistons, they are fine for hacking and keep me warm.

Another for Bromonts, I find my normal ones warm enough on freezing days so you should be fine with the insulated ones.

Now those sound exciting - where did you get your battery powered socks from?

I’m not an especially cold person but don’t get cold feet with Ariat Grasmeres. Also you could consider trying half a size bigger than normal so you can fit in extra thick or double layer socks. I also find if the boots are a little too snug and you can’t move your feet in them they tend to get colder.

I have a lovely pair of Mountain Horse fake fur lined ones but the only problem is they are nubuck and I don’t want to get them muddy so they are rarely used ?

Another vote for Grassmeres - and for leaving a gap between foot and boot to create a warm air pocket. Sometimes stuffing the space with thick socks is counter productive.

My Ariat Icebergs kept me warm in cold and exposed terrain. Insulated and waterproof. I don't think they are made now but Ariat make similar.

I live in my Ariat Grasmeres for yard jobs and winter hacking, if my feet ever get cold in them, it's too blooming cold. (Only happens once or so every 2 years).
I use the insulated Bromonts for going out, but occasionally have stuck to the Grasmeres for a RC group clinic if v cold. (I just don't care what I look like these days, warmth is more important)
I still only wear 1 pair of socks, except for perhaps farrier day, when I might pop a pair of tights under breeches too if v cold.

Something else to consider is that metal stirrups are conductors of cold. You could try non metal stirrups and this would probably help.

Any insulated ariat will keep your feet toasty warm even with standard socks . Never has cold feet since I discovered them . Have an old pair of grassmeres and a new pair of conistons .

Have treated myself to some Ariat Wythburn H20 Insulated boots with fur lining. Went up half a size to allow for circulation and have freshly washed my heat holder socks.

All with the aim for going on a lovely long hack this morning. My horse had other ideas however, having come in from the field last night minus a front shoe ?

Oh well, that will teach me ??
