Took Gyp and Hattie out riding and leading for a quiet walk down the road, about a mile. Only it wasn't quiet, there had been an accident on the main road (I found out when I go home) and the cars were using this normally quiet country lane as a rat run. 36 vehicles past me in the 20mins it took me to do 2 miles. 18 I pulled over for, 6 of which thanked me. Only 6. The other 18 had to slow down or stop for me, I was riding and leading so was as wide as a car in narrow country lanes. I thanked every one of those cars, 10 acknowledged me, 7 didn't even look at me, 1 of which very nearly if not did hit Hattie with his wing mirror and 1 hurled abuse at me.
Why do I, the one who uses these lanes everyday have to be the one shoved in the hedge and abused just because they are impatient and have to rush home. I wouldn't mind if they thanked me and drove slowly round our numerous blind bends.
Letters are going to be sent to the local papers, I am sick of this.
