After nearly 12 months of on-off lameness, lami, the occasional seizures and constant vet and farrier visits
AND 5 weeks waiting for test results (!!!) we finally have an answer.
My p/l mare has Cushings.
In a way it's good news - we know now what's causing all the problems and how we can control it....but it doesn't stop it being a horrible disease.
We're trying to stay positive - she is very bright lately, VERY vocal (lol) and is desperate to get out of her stable - the vet has said not to force her but we're to let her wander out of her stable if she likes
I've been away at uni so I can't wait to get to the yard tomorrow and see how she is - she'll have been on Pergolide for a week and a half by tomorrow.
