Today I hacked Charlie out on his own. Nothing much for some but 6 months ago he wouldn't even go 50 yards.
We had Kissing Spine surgery in Oct 12 prior to this he had gone from perfect hack to almost unrideable. Following his rehab and lunging I discovered he still thought hacking would hurt so we went back to basics where even leaving the yard and coming in the second gate was an achievement. We have taken it slowly and have a way to go yet but we hacked an Hour and a Half he was happy to the point of perky and I didn't have to say good boy every few yards we just hacked.
Pre op this ride caused him to panic every time we stopped for a car. Post op riding I had to get off and lead him the whole hack and that was with company patience time more patience and more time and we have a happy horse.
