Ok so we've moved... yey!!!

Turned up @9am and got girls ready- kn0bface helped the transport man load up (random!) he was looking very sheepish so i though perhaps he was feeling bad about things.

Anyway, my mum was there this time and he never said a word to me- all loaded up and he tells my mum we owe £96.. my mum tells him hes a prat and storms off to see his mum (who is in charge of horses) to sort it out.
I get ready to sit in my car and he says 'Nothing leaves this yard until its paid up' I replied
'Not to worry, mum will sort it'

he then replied 'oh yes, get your mummy to sort it for you'

WELLL!!!! I then pointed out his 'mummy' saved his ass so stop being so precious.. he then threatened me! by adding 'You better watch that mouth, with horses like that!'
I shouted at the transport guy he BETTER of not told him where we are going!

I went mental, went storming up to my mum telling her we are paying ZERO he just threatened me with witnesses and we're leaving. He ran up after me telling me i was overreacting and it was some 'advice!!!!!!!!!'

My mum went mental, called him a few names and said to his mother im sure shes proud to have such a bully as a son- we're leaving.. so off we walked back to our car then his mum walks down and tells the transport guy that hes never welcome back on their land (how pathetic!!)

Then we left, horses settled in well- a few pics as we had loads to sort out so promise to get you more tomorrow of our actual yard!

(we moved EVERYTHING last night as they were all out at a party)

Im logging the threat with the police, just incase! I dont trust him at all

I went out and bought some big chains and padlocks aswell- im petrified he knows where we are!

Really glad you've found somewhere better. I read your original post and the son sounded like a real t*t and you've really landed on your feet with the new yard.
And your foal is really gorgeous!

I'm also pleased you have moved - but that looks suspiciously like sheepwire around your new field. Sheepwire & horses, especially foals, do not mix.

motehr and oof.. did you read her original post?

This lady has had nothing but hassle off this block and i dont blame her at all for reactin this way

I'm glad you have found somewhere nice to go as I have to say your post wouldn't make me warm to you as a potential client.

Perhaps you need to meet this farmers son before you jump to conclusions about 'warming' to me.
Anyone who has met me (and a few have) know what i am like- and confrontational i am not! Im actually shy and quiet mostly.
This man is 50+ and a bully to enjoys bullying young girls to the point they are too scared to go up to the yard!!

Did you miss the part where he threatened my horses?

Id like to of seen your reaction if a big 6'3 man is threatening you!!

Exactly. Make it tonight you deal with the sheep wire though - or keep mum and foal in. Just in case.

Well said Equestrianfairy they must have missed the post, I am glad your move went ok, I hope you are very happy there! :-) He sounded like such a t**t. Your foal is looking lovely.

Sorry, didn't mean to upset, and no I didn't see original post. My OH is a farmer's son and he's nothing like this, but his brother.... well there's another story... sounds just like this one! Glad you've found somewhere nice now EF and lovely foal!

I did read it at the time, some simple confusion over clearing out a barn that got out of hand.

If you have to deal with threatening, abusive or unreasonable people you should be able to do so without resorting to shouting or swearing, or being impressed that your parents may do so on your behalf.

M_H have you ever had your horse threatened by someone you know is in pocession of a bolt gun.. and would use it?

Cause I have and i nearly deck a 6ft 6 block in my red

I've been threatened in ways over the years that you couldn't begin to imagine.

As a paying customer whose terms and conditions (even if unwritten) have been breached, you have the option to leave without notice - but doing it with dignity certainly gives you the upper hand

I'm pleased you and your friend have found somewhere nice to move your horses too. It's a shame you lowered yourself to the Yo's sons level though.

If someone threatened my daughter and her horses. I don't think my etiquette would come into it.

I too had a famers son try this sort of tacktic when I was a livery on a farm. Very similar situation arose. Although he swore at me, I went to farmers wife who told me just to ignore him, He then proceeded to continue so I also gave him colourfully what for (although I new my horse would be O.k. as he was terrified of horses and never went nearer that the field gate). He told me if I didn't like it MOVE I said I don't pay you the livery so keep your opinions to yourself. We never spoke again until I needed to see if my horse would go in a lorry he overheard and said I'll leave mine open (which he moved the cows in he'd just jet washed it all out) and you can try him in that if you want? I looked like

If I hadn't stood up to him I would have felt I had to move.(Farmer had had a word with him plus OH rented a building from farmer) so they had a lot more to lose.

Mine was threated.. they withheld my passport.. it turned very nasty, he rung me up and told me 'dont expect your horse to be here in the mornin, ive got a bolt gun and a passport.. noone can prove he was here,'

A you can imagine.. i flipped.. i hacked him up as busy B road at 8'oclock in the pitch black in floods of tears with no passport soaked to the core... no shoes and a semi-lame horse.

What choice did i have.

My uncle came up teh yard incase i saw him.. becasue he new i would have decked him..

We didn't have passports as it was awhile ago about 7 years but I didn't leave my passport there when we did get them non of us did. We bought a place of our own with land built stables etc and moved from the farm. The Council took the farm back six months later and farmer retired and the council gave the son another farm about 8 miles from where we moved to.

OH said your horse costs more than bringing up 2 children lol. He never rode. Since we've moved he started mucking out for me then went and had private lessons on the quite to start with. (This is after 22 years of marriage) He bought a horse 4 years ago and has done more lets call it eventing lol than I've done in over 40 years. (I hate him) not really he's great lol.
grin.gif

the farmers wife had ted on lon and thats the reason that she had the passport .. she also sorted his last set of injections out.. i trusted her.. she was my bestfriend and i was ment to be her maid of honour...

so it was a nasty split.
