I bought my pony eighteen months ago, he was a pity buy as he was absolutely ravaged by sweet itch and his last owners were struggling as they had an awful midgey field. I've struggled with his condition since but the sweet itch is under control
A young HHO-er (L) has come over every weekend during the autumn and winter to diligently walk him out, groom him and continue his education so to have something to look forward to we set a date for a show and last Saturday we set off in a hired box for a day out, me as their groom for the day and L's mum as moral, practical and canteen support!
Their first class was the best conditon class which I knew was a long shot as Milo doesnt have great topline plus he is growing out a clip and has rug rubs but they took it seriously, did a beautiful trot up and came away with a rosette
Next was the M&M class where Milos lack of maturity and topline went against him
Last was the junior handler class which was split in to two age groups, L won her section so I was thrilled for her, all of the hard work and practice paid off
All in all we had a great day out. The judge was excellent and very helpful. L did brilliantly and pony behaved very well - you cant ask for much more
I think L deserves some positive comments as I dont think she realises what a good helper she has been and the positive effect she has had on Milo
Pics are a little fuzzy due to the distances involved (L's mum has given her permission for pics to be posted)
