I think I may have to check in later on. I was hoping she might show a few more signs by now but its not happening. Well I did say I would give her until midnight so I will stick with it. I pity anyone who tries to speak to me tomorrow morning though....you think Kossette is grumpy.....
I'm still here. Just about to go and get a nice mug of Coffee to help keep me awake.
Last night I stayed up till 12.45 but might try and stay up later tonight. My Mum was still working on her PC When I went to bed last night so I left my laptop on and asked her to stay on watch for me. She woke me up at 3.30 convinced that Kossette was about to drop!! I went back to bed not long after and Mum then stayed up till 7.00am watching the foal cam - It was her first time watching as well! She must be mad!
I don't know about grumpy, of the 11 so far this year, the grumpy mum's were always grumpy way before and after foaling. Maidens are the funniest as they are genuinely shocked at the sight of their foal and when its stands up! I think it is difficult to judge totally on the camera, stopping eating and walking/getting agitated is the most common sign. I've got quite good with predicting my lot, but then I go into their boxes at the start of my shift and look at them and their bags, as I see them every night then it gets easy to spot a change no matter how small. Needless to say watching Kossette is entertaining. I've only got 6 on camera tonight, 5 overdue but the one that isn't due for another 10 days is more forward than those 10 days overdue!
Everytime I think about throwing the towel in and packing off to bed, she goes and looks at her belly or makes some other promising sign. I think I'll give her til midnight....
