This feels like a charade at this stage, as both my ridden horses are complete swamp monsters at the moment.
We haven’t had a day without rain since the start of the year, winter really is wintering…
Biggest achievement last week was getting the arena groomed, followed promptly by days of rain, so that was largely pointless
at least my drainage is good, the arena hasn’t so much as had surface water on it yet.
Local power company are out wrecking our fields again tomorrow… sorry, doing some essential maintenance, so no doubt we will have a bit of a tidy up to do after that.
Current DIY project (refurbishing roof trusses in stables lol) is due to finish by next weekend, so I’m hoping that means I’ll be able to get the lads into a routine again.
Goals for spring:
Get out to a dressage comp
Go and do some xc schooling (I have a couple of all weather venues nearby)
Join local riding club
That’s the best I can do for now.
