I know it's early on a Thursday but I'm in denial about the work I've got to get through before the bank holiday and daydreaming about fun times :p

What's everyone up to?

Packed weekend chez Millie,
Friday got some riding and teaching in the morning, then lesson early afternoon with Kira - might even get some pics this time as I've managed to rope in a friend to drag along  then zip back to get to Hartpury to watch super Topaz :D

Saturday Millie has a proper showing outing, there's a SSADL veteran class at the same venue we had our showing debut and then depending on how brave I'm feeling we might do a 'normal' unaff class as well, or just play in the warm up arena if it's free ;)

Sunday more teaching and riding YOs horse, plus hack mine and move fields, might even get to see my parents for the first time in about a month but it depends how long the field set up takes, as Kira needs a double row of elec to stop her getting up close and personal with other ponies.

Monday Kira has arena hire for a sneaky run through of my freestyle floorplan. hoping she will be able to perform it nicely, might need a few tweaks but fingers crossed.

Have fun all :D

I lost my beautiful horse last month to wobblers. I have an empty stable and don't like it. I am looking at a new potential horse on Saturday :-)

A bit more expensive than I was anticipating, but I am fed up of looking at horses with undisclosed sarcoids, filled legs, ridden issues. This one sounds like it has been very carefully produced and I am willing to pay for that!

Oh fab. I'm also in early holiday mode even though I still need to get through today before I'm off. Sounds like you have a jam packed weekend with lots of fun stuff, and lots of cleaning and preening that pony.

Not sure if I can face any showing this year, I really enjoyed the few we did last year but by heck it's a lot of work. Especially with a grey who uses a poo pillow.

Bit of a mixed bag for us as have to balance out social and horsey stuff as usual. Looking forward to a delivery of matchy sets today as an early birthday present to myself. They looks scrummy even if it means using bandages, as they don't have boots. Pfft.

Might try and squeeze in a ride tomorrow, likely flatwork as I've neglected that badly. Family time Saturday then BE taster day at Ely on Sunday with Michael Pavely. Bit naughty but I'm only able to get to the jumping section as the times were a bit weird, so neglecting flatwork again, oops. Then a day out in London on Monday so no horsey again.

Oh no, that horrid. What a sad time do you. But I agree about the budget, I upped mine to get a more quality horse and have never regretted it. Not big bucks but more than I wanted to spend!

Sorry to hear about your horse.

Good luck with your search, why do people not mention these things, frustrates the life out of me. Wastes everyones time and money. Hope you find the right one soon.

Our weekend was planned to be out jumping at the easter show, however after my lad fell over on the road spooking at Shetland, hes cut his leg. Thought it was getting better, but its not. He managed to skid on concrete, ( think Bambi ) with his back legs going that far under he kicked himself on his elbow. Vet due any minute.
So, I have a lesson planned for Friday on my ID, then plenty of mare in foal watching. Can someone please make her hurry up and give birth ?

Good Luck to all those out competing and horse hunting this weekend

we have a mixed bag, XC schooling tomorrow at Tweseldown with my boy, then family stuff Saturday and likely similar on Sunday
but i will fit in some riding time every day hopefully - either hacking/schooling depending how I feel

looking forward to some time out of work

Happy Easter to all!

Dressage tomorrow, civilised time of 11.46am so diva will be pleased that there's no majorly early wake-up call.

The hooligan has had a week off after his exploits last week, I frankly couldn't even be bothered trying with him this week as he annoyed me that much, but I'll be back on board him this weekend.

Sunday- off to a local chaser course with the diva for some much deserved jumping and galloping fun.

Good luck viewing the horse red.

I am doing prelim 13 on Sunday and because I am an eventer (ha ha) I am going to learn it and practice it today and I'm not going to have a caller. Hence just doing one test as there is no way I can remember 2!

Good luck all.

Pretty relaxed weekend for me, meeting up with a friend to hack tomorrow on new boy. Judging at a horse trials Saturday, grooming at a different horse trials Sunday then meeting up with old friends for lunch on Monday. Mixed in with playing with new pony.

Good luck to all those competing

Hope foal arrives soon Asha, those last few waiting days are agonising!! 2 on the ground here with another due any day.

Good luck to all those out learning, competing, foal watching, scurrying and definitely horse hunting!

Tomorrow we're off down to Onley for the first Horseball league weekend of the season. It's only six weeks since I started riding again and I've only had two mounted training sessions so I'm a little apprehensive to say the least. I'm back on my big ginger horse for this weekend as I know he will look after me (and at 17.2 there's less chance of opponents grabbing my arm!).

Got four games over the weekend and my aim is to get a goal!

Hacking with good mates tomorrow, not sure if boxing out to hack or just at home.
Sat a morning XC with riding club
Sun, prob mooching hack*
Mon I am at M/Wood for an arena SJ/XC schooling lesson.

Hope everyone competing writes a good write up after! Also hope everyone has a good time doing what they want to do :)
* am resisting calls to 'go showing' from a friend.

Sorry to hear about your horse Red, i hope the one you are looking at is successful!

Wimbles a friend of mine has recently taken up horse ball and i've watched a few times and am in awe! Do you hang of the side of your very large horse and pick the ball up off of the floor?!

I had lots of plans that have now be scuppered!
Ruby had the dentist on Tuesday as i have been having some (fairly minor) contact issues so wanted to get everything checked, he found a small mark on the bar of her mouth where the bit would sit, he thinks this may have happened when she was being wild and throwing herself around at Tweseldown end of Feb (about the time the inconsistency started) as its old looking, but obviously struggling to heal as still riding. He suggested riding her for a week in a hackamore and then a rubber/ happy mouth bit for another week and see how it goes - last night was night #1 of Hackamore riding and quite possibly the last! I need lessons on riding in a hackamore, it was awful, like riding a beach donkey with a dead mouth! So thats all my plans out the window :D

Good luck everyone competing!

Jump lesson on Friday with Vittoria Panizzon, followed by the farrier coming out to put J's first ever set of shoes on! XC schooling on Saturday, flat lesson on Sunday and I might hack on Monday if his little legs haven't worn away by then :D

Second Elementary this weekend so we've got a lesson booked tomorrow to iron out any last-minute issues and then Sunday I'm hoping to pop my big guy over a few small fences. We haven't jumped in 8 weeks so it could be interesting ;)

Lesson tomorrow (hopefully XC!), quiet Sat/Sun as seeing family for Easter, then hopefully last bloodhounding of the season on Monday! Hoping H isn't too full of himself, but since hounds will be getting involved I somehow doubt that :p

Taking car to garage this morning then shhhh buying some shoes in my favourite shoe shop which happily is two minutes from the garage .
Riding to night a hack out with C and Tatts .
Tomorrow is XC schooling (no telling C is allowed as he coliced the night before the last one I tried to get to ) .
Sunday late lunch with mum and dad here and garden duties Monday garden and limbering up for Pammy Hutton on Tuesday and Wednesday and getting ready for trying a horse on Thursday ( not looking forward to this but needs must ).

Hubby has a groin strain, so has withdrawn from event tomorrow.

5yo is taking his pony showjumping tonight, with possibly another SJ next Tuesday, and then PC easter camp from Wednesday to Friday.

If my new connie stops coughing I'll maybe take him and do SJ crosspole class next Tuesday..

Busy, busy :)

Good luck red viewing your potential new horse..

Fiona

Fun, childish hacking and loosely nautical game playing on Monday with a friend. Other than that, just training and hacking at home. How dull. I'm slightly envious of Wimbles and the horseball weekend!

Ok slight change of plan. Road trip to pick up a stand in tomorrow. I use the term stand in loosely. Very loosely.

I don't think the one you're picking up could stand in C's hoofprints. Stand over them, perhaps!

First outing of the season and we came away with a 4th, out of a class of 13.

Well thats put paid to my weekend plans - got as far as my lesson, J was absolutely brilliant & I was so so pleased with him - then right at the end I came off over a fence. Thought it hurt a bit -3 hours in Gloucester A&E and cracked ribs diagnosed, incredibly painful and the codeine isn't touching it! So annoying when he was such a total star, love him to bits :)
