Everyone too busy voting? ;)

Quiet one for us again!
Kira has a lesson tomorrow. Millie had a show on Tuesday so is on a hacking weekend before gearing up for her AF later in the month.

Have fun everyone, hope the weather improves...

Teehee, yes maybe, but you are still the best at this thread so...
I've not got much planned at the moment, but am contemplating going out for a play xc on Sunday - weather dependent as I'm saft these days.

Good luck with Millie....(or are we not supposed to mention it just in case)

Shhhhhhhh , nope! ;)

She felt super fabby on Tuesday though, I feel so so lucky to be out on my old campaigner :o

Ok, promise I'll hold my tongue :p
I'm excited for you though, gives me a warm fuzzy feeling - stupidly daft I know, but it just shines through how much you adore her and the joy she brings you

(He was excellent the rest of the visit just one slight misjudgment of how to jump off a wall...)

Good luck with Millie MP :)

First competition of the summer for us on Sunday (haven't been out competing since Easter time). We're going to be trying our hand at a little bit of showing! It's just a local show, mainly going for the experience, to have some fun and to get him used to the atmosphere/megaphones/catering/general horse-eating monsters. Aiming to do a little SJ round, ridden hunter type and working hunter, but I'm going to see how it goes, we can always come home or just hang and chill without doing any classes. In any case I think he'll look smart all plaited and in a proper hunter bridle, so we can take some pretty photos :p

Hahahaha FW - that is an amazing photo...a physical expression of his mental bafflement. A great one for the 'on the journey' scrapbook

All the best for show and pretty photos IKMV

Showing on Sunday. Probably be told my horse is too thin. Or just ignored. Then we'll go and play in the gymkhana instead :p

Can I join in? I excercise a pony and have been invited to join in on his owners jumping lesson on Sunday. She text me yesterday to tell me she's hired the arena and jumps at the local competition venue for our lesson :)

Why have I suddenly developed nerves though? Lol

Baby mare and I are resting on our laurels after last weekend as our local show has just been cancelled due to the appalling weather (good call as the field will be a swamp and no one getting in would get out again). I think we ll practice ignoring the hammering rain on the roof of the arena and being brave being ridden in there on our own - mare gets a bit distracted and stops listening. Good luck to those who are out and about.

Off to a lesson tonight after work, not idea as it means getting back late but never mind. Mooch out hacking tomorrow morning then off jumping on Sunday at our first affiliated show. Just doing the 85cm Amateur qualifier and the BN. I think she could do with moving up but we are still getting some mileage under our belts.
Good luck all :)

Great photo FW!! Good luck with the horse trying PM, fingers crossed you have some horse power of the four-legged variety by Monday!

We've just had a fantastic two days at AM dressage - Adam got Pocholo sussed in about five minutes. We're putting it all to the test on Sunday with two Novice tests, although Adam agreed with my usual trainer that we should crack on with Ele asap as it will play to P's strengths (collection and leg yield! He's too 'baroque' for swinging working and medium paces) but hopefully we can get a couple of Novice Area sheets.

Doing my little weekend yard this weekend so not venturing out this time.

Going to help my sharer jump tomorrow, then we're going to pony steal and go for a hack! Sunday has not been planned but I'll probably stick with another hack in case I feel slightly worse for wear after going for drinks on Saturday night.

Saturday will be mostly hacking followed by some horse and tack cleaning in preparation for our second BE #thisgirlcan training day at Tweseldown on Sunday. - on monday evening going with my friend and trainer to a nice local venue with permanent SJ courses set up, to practice course jumping as this is the phase in eventing we seem to be worst at :-(

good luck to all those out and about

Awww thanks, she is literally the best horse In The World and after the last 4 years of heartache and turmoil, whatever we can do now is gold dust.

Love it!

Brill :D and good luck Sunday. I'm jealous even though I'm heading over there in a couple of hours. I could live at AM dressage for the rest of my days quite happily :o

Looking forward to reports and photos from everyone else :D

Saturday lesson which I always enjoy and then Sunday we're boxing up to Tatton Park to practice our dancing demo for Cheshire Show! Happy, horsey weekend.

Saturday I am taking three of my ex racers to a ROR have a go at Polocrosse day down in Warwickshire so that me and some friends all get to have a go. I'm super excited about it all, even thought I will no doubt be rubbish!

Sunday we've got horseball training and I'm thinking of hiring a school so that myself and Brian can try and re-create that magic trot found on our lesson this week!

Our yard got the good news from the vets this week that we are off strangles lock-down - whatever the snotty pony had it wasn't strangles. Huge sighs of relief all round as riding laps of the over-grown winter field was getting really boring! It also means that the children's party scheduled for this weekend can go ahead and my big boy can celebrate his 13th birthday being oooh'd and aaah'd over my lots of tiddlers - which he adores. Bring a baby out and watch an Ardennes go all gooey eyes as he tries to slobber over it. He's been a bit down for the past few weeks because I've kept both mine isolated in case it was strangles and didn't understand why he was being petted over as normal. So hopefully this weekend he can celebrate his birthday with carrots and having his tummy groomed by little girls in pink jods.

I'm jealous of you now ;) I could have happily moved in!! Hopefully we'll head back in August - I'm not sure Pocholo will look forward to it as much as I will though :D

Taking son and pony to SJ this evening...

New connie and I have our first show class tomorrow. County show, nothing like jumping in at the deep end :o

Wish us luck..

Fiona

I'm looking forward to sitting on B this weekend after he's been off work :) did a short bareback mooch on Weds eve and he was super - if a bit keen! Planning on doing lots of walk and practice some lateral bits to get him flexing and supple before starting to work the trot again next week :)

Oh and a bath and tidy up is also on the cards, he's so filthy and hairy! Mane (hogged) looking like a bog brush :D

And another ride on friend's horse on Sunday, she's lovely but I've missed riding my own!

Good luck to those competing and hope everyone else has fun, whatever you're up to :)

Nugz is off to strut his showing stuff at Beaver Hall with my friend on Sunday - really hoping the weather holds out!!!

Then we are on countdown to the Cheshire Show!

Saddler came out yesterday and fitted new pony with a shiny Kent and Masters so we are good to go! Plan to get her in the school for a basics session and out on a hack this weekend. She is a fabulous little mare- complete speed demon, loves to work but so unbelievably green. Can't wait to start working with her!

Diva will be hacking out and Ill be visiting the hooligan.

Was supposed to be pottering about a local prelim, but now doing Novice and Elementary at the Festival of Dressage at Rockrose after a friend withdrew and allowed me to take her space.

Papping it.

Not much on the riding front, hacking first thing both days. Saturday then going to Beaufort polo. Sunday I have the joys of updating a drug safety brochure, such an exciting life!

First ride on new pony was going great, until YOs nephew decided to appear out of nowhere and fire a pellet gun 15 feet away. Pony was a bit nervous anyway and did a humongous spook, which sent me out the side door. Bless her, I got back on and carried on, but she was then petrified of the top end of the manège as she thought it was that that had made the noise. Needless to say I have had strong words with the YOs nephew and YO!

Anyway, did manage to get her to soften and slightly relax in the end but the poor thing was traumatised. Not quite the best start! Why are people such mindless idiots??
