Weekend plans :D

Waving off my grey Irish chap to his new home today. Dressage judging tomorrow.
In between times horse hunting, sold our decent event horse a couple of weeks back so looking for his replacement now, plus if the right project makes an appearance then a grey Irish replacement isn't out of the question either. Will get myself off for some schoolmaster lessons until the next one makes an appearance!

Well, my weekend started with my vet fitting me in last thing on Friday for a tendon scan with Ted, whose hind leg was all puffy above the fetlock and he was very lame in trot. Luckily no tear in the tendon, so relieved, even the vet thought it was going to be much worse before he looked on the scan. However it's an inflamed tendon sheath with possible manica flexoria damage which is repairable. So relieved as was thinking it might be time to retire him. Will know more next week so fingers firmly crossed.
Anyway I'm off tomorrow for some dressage with Lenny to try and qualify for the Sunshine Tour and take miming off poor Ted. Good luck to all competing.

Sorry to hear about Ted. This is exactly what Millie did last year (also a hindleg). She had surgery to tidy it up a bit this time last year and is just back competing now - was a long road to recovery because of her age but she feels tip top now. Hope you have a good outcome too.

Well we had a productive day slogging away in the sun replacing the lorry floor. I think the one that was in there must have been the original one, would be 15 years old or more! That was good value  It was quite worn out though still safe, but a weight off my mind to know it's all new. Really pleased with my equimats that we have put down, first journey will be taking Millie to her area festival on thursday.

Rode a pony at the yard this morning and had then intended to take my 2 out hacking... but uh oh, man down

Well successful day for Lenny. He came 2nd in the Novice so has qualified for the Sunshine Tour. He already has a qualification for arena eventing and it seemed a long way to go for just one class, so I can now go and do some dressage there too.

Millie pops, do you mind if I PM you about the manica flexoria op and management?

Frankie was a good boy, very quiet so not a lot of competition but he seemed to feel the after effects of not having done a circle for a year less than me given his welsh tittiness today :D.

Hope everyone had a good one!!

We had a good weekend, just did some schooling on Saturday and worked the trot. Practised collecting and bringing it smaller then pushing it on to big trot. We can now manage a full long side without losing the frame but can only manage 2 or 3 strides of uphill push before it flattens.

He does find the collection much easier so this is pretty good going for Bowser. Getting there slowly!

Sunday Funday for us, jumping! We had a great time at arena hire, B was super happy to be out. A number of sticky moments for the pair of us, I am definitely out of practice so position left a lot to be desired and it was a bit deep in places for B so lost a bit of confidence in places. Not me for a change, I was happily kicking on!! But overall, a fun and successful day, some of the jumps were easily 85cm which is big for us!! No points for style but I'm finally feeling brave enough to just kick on so I'm really pleased :)

Sorry to hear about multiple bruisings :( and tendon sheath issues :(

I managed to end the weekend with all three sound (which after they bust out of the field and Doodle was lame with big fat cankles behind) I'm taking as a win!

Topaz and Skylla went hacking, but no trip to the gallops as Skylla isn't fit enough and Doodle made sure she wasn't available with her cankle drama (cankles are now normal size and she seems sound so I think she just ran round too much in the excitement of the big escape).

Hope the bruises and injuries heal for everyone and well done the rest on your achievements :).

Definitely a win, great news! Shame about the cankles but glad they've gone down :D obviously had much fun after liberating themselves!

I had a good couple of days at Hickstead, spent too much really but needs must! My oh bought a bench for the garden which was random!
Big donkey was however awesome in her lesson :biggrin3: so chuffed as we are starting to feel like a partnership. Got to work on her fitness as she still gets a bit tired near the end but now we have lots of hills and better hacking that will come. She also still gets her legs in a knot but thats fine, she is only 6 and still strengthening up and learning how to really engage behind.
She is not however convinced she likes her new fluff :biggrin3:
