Thursday afternoon :D Here we are again.
What's everyone got planned?

Bit of a quiet one here. Took Darcy for a lesson yesterday so we will just be doing some homework. Kira is going for walkies now, OH will be away at YHL so I'm probably going to pop over on Saturday to keep him company. Hoping he will swing some passes for the Isabell Werth demo ;)

And revising...just booked lorry theory and hazard perception for next week. There's nothing like a tight deadline. All the other dates available were in December so I though I had better just crack on!

Might squeeze in an arena hire as hatching a new new plan to take D to a little show next weekend. Depends on the weather really :p

Have fun all

Good luck with all of that MP.

Can't believe it's that time already. This week has been a whirl.

Quiet one for me I reckon. Lesson tonight - F always feels fantastic after we've been hunting, it really does him good. All forward, supple and perky. Always seems a bit odd as he's like a coiled up giraffe at the start and it's a lot of hooning about in the mud, but he thrives on it. A trip to the tack shop for brunch with horsey friends and a mooch around on Sat, hacking and possibly pop a few jumps on Sunday.

Ohh good luck with your exam MP - and with the revision.....

Bernster - a tackshop and coffee/cake sounds heavenly. Enjoy x

F and I had a great WH jumping lesson on Monday evening, and then F had his first winter PC rally on Tuesday night. His two absolute favourite instructors so he was delighted.

F and Daisy have junior SJ league on Sat afternoon, and I'm hoping to go to WH comp on Sunday afternoon if the weather is favourable. Then RC polework lesson on Monday, and F has PC on Tues.

Sadly mr H is off games as his (usually mild) RAO has flared up. Miffed to be missing a jumping lesson and a comp. Am going to have to move to either horsehage or pellet hay replacer as his soaked hay isn’t working.
He is feeling well in himself as was very cross when friends horse rode past yesterday and he wasn’t wasnt allowed go out with her!
Have a good weekend everyone

Have fun and good luck to everyone competing! I hope Mr H picks up soon Reacher :).

We are, shockingly, continuing to hoon around the countryside on our own. Low tide is during daylight hours this weekend so we'll be doing a mixture of schooling and interval training.
I've got an offer to go out with bloodhounds at the end of the month but I'm concerned about what M will do (poor Ester and I discussed this last night :P) so it looks like we'll be giving it a miss :(. I'm tempted to pay one of the pointer riders to take her out for me but she can be tricky for new riders so that's not necessarily the safest option.

Taking Pip for a SJ lesson on sunday. It will be her first jump since I came off,so not sure if im doing it or my instructor. I wouldn't normally be such a wuss, but landing on my head has put me off jumping. But she does enjoy it, I reckon I will let instructor do it, and maybe jump on at the end.

lucky you DF, would love a chance at riding on the beach, sounds fab.
Darcy Donkey is looking great MP. I haven't been to YHL for years, is it worth going for the shopping ?

thanks, he's trying his best :) Umm... depends what you want really. I don't have any money really so find it a bit tedious! There are the same old expensive things and a lot of tat IMO. The Horse Health stand does have a decent sale on usually so I will make a bee-line for that and then just people watch :)

Buzz has the dentist this afternoon, fri and sat will probably hack then got clear round/half lesson thing on Sunday. Hopefully will try and jump a little higher than I did the last time I went there but it'll be ok if I don't manage it :) more hoping that he'll load as I struggled last time I was out.

I dont need anything, but its nice to a bit fo a browse. I shall save my pennies for another day :)

The novelty wears off pretty quickly; especially in winter when it's howling wind and rain but you don't have a school so there's no other option :p. It's convenient for fitness work though!

You've just ruined my vision of you galloping blissfully along the beach, now im just seeing you wrapped up in winter woollies shivering. .I bet the views good though.

based on my hair raising experience cantering large for the first time in my trainer's indoor yesterday, I think if I only had a beach to school Darcy on I'd never progress beyond 65m circles!! :D I need the walls to bounce off :p

No particular riding plans, beyond hopefully squeezing in some hacking between the inevitable rain, but I've bitten the bullet and bought a van to be converted into a horsebox! So I'll be heading over to the horsebox place to finalise exactly what I want doing, and then I'll just have to wait far too many months for it to be finished.

ooh that's very exciting Pippity :)

My hacking buddy was trying to convince me to go for a 7.5t, but I had no idea what to look for in one of those, not to mention all the hassle of plating as opposed to MOT and being harder to fit down narrow lanes, etc., etc. So if he wants a 7.5t, he can buy one himself!

yes I'm not looking forward to that aspect of a 7.5t. It will be convenient in some ways but the little box is so great for the narrow lanes round here, I am sure it going to add minutes and £££ to my journeys when I swap.

Given it's Wales there is rather a lot of wrapped up and freezing! But it's glorious in summer which (mostly) makes up for the winter.

It's pretty good for straightness and having extra room when we need it, but if she's fresh we usually have to go for a good blast first! I really do miss having a school :p.

Ooh, exciting Pippity! Will you be doing a thread for the build photos?

I'm going to some arena hire with Daemon tomorrow afternoon. Pop some fences, see how's feeling with a view to some SJ in the coming months.

Can't seem to find a decent arena around here to run any archery at the moment so I'll have to play at conventional horse sports for the time being...

Hope folks have having fun and exciting weekends!

I haven't posted in here for ages as things have just been so full on - both horse related and non horse related. I am celebrating my and Cassie's four year anniversary tomorrow with a Sara-Jane Lanning clinic at Merrist Wood. (My annual thank you to Ester for seeing Cassie's ad and coming with me to view her!!) Then on Saturday I have a mechanical horse session at Sparsholt - never done one before and I'm a little apprehensive about it. Hopefully it will be useful in terms of picking up my wonkiness! And just because I am still floating on cloud 9, here is a picture of us from Sunday at the Nettex Associated Champs. First ever sash for me in 40 years of horse ownership! Have a great weekend everyone, whatever you are up to - enjoy and keep safe. xx

Hopefully the actual build will only take a couple of weeks, and it's being done 70 miles away from me, so I won't have much to photograph! The delay is waiting for the build slot to come up. As is usually the case with reputable builders, there's quite a queue.

Boggle is strutting his stuff at sparsholt unaff on sat if you are around 😀 (not me riding.. obviously.. I’m taking him hunting the next day ;)

I’m at YHL for all three days with my lovely mum, which is where we reignited her horse obsession 3 years ago! She entered Your Horse’s ‘Win a Horse’ competition and got into the final three 😊 it’ll be great to go back together with her with her own horse to shop for! We’ve got a packed itinerary making the most of all the demos. The only think we’re not doing is the Isabel Werth evening one, mum would LOVE it but it’s just a lot on top of an already expensive weekend! 💸😂

nikicb - lovely picture, congrats!

After a not-stellar show on Sunday I've been on a bit of a break from riding this week. I might go for a hack on Sunday, if the husband doesn't convince me to snuggle at home all day.

Have a great weekend everyone. Nothing planned here. Millie’s had a week completely off as I’ve been full of this cold virus thing, which seems to be getting worse not better!
Polly’s lame and had the vet yesterday so she’s out of action.
Was hoping to visit my best friends new baby, but I’m so full of cold that I don’t want to pass any germs on.
