Ugh this week is dragging and racing by at the same time. Anyway, the calendar has confirmed it is indeed Thursday afternoon, whatever my feelings are on the subject, so what's everyone got planned?

We have a show on Saturday and will be attempting to debut "cantering in public" o_O entered 2 tests for the first time, hopefully that will help Darcy make the connection that shows are for working, not just watching everyone else ;)

That's it for formal plans but have a to-do list as long as my arm, making up for being ill last weekend. Including taking little lorry to the weighbridge so I can write the advert... putting this here so HHO peer pressure will hold me accountable and make me do it!

Have fun all, and willing our rain to head round the globe and do some good instead of just adding to the mud here.

I am so excited to see Boggle on Sunday after a month of travelling around Indonesia!
Had the best time but super pleased to be heading back on Saturday for a much needed pony smooch. A good gallop is in order I think! I’d love to go hunting but can’t see the energy being there after 17 hours of flying.

Slight halt to our plans as Finn has cellulitis :( Poor fella was very sore on Tuesday but has perked up well after vet visit. Hoping it will respond quickly and clear up fully but no plans until I know he's ok. I will also be extra vigilant as he will now be more susceptible apparently. Considering I thought he'd blown a tendon, I'm oddly relieved.

I started the Top Barn 12 week challenge on Monday with both Cassie and Cam, so we are officially back to it! A bit of in hand wok for both today, treadmill for Cassie tomorrow and arena hire on Sunday. Cam will just continue with the in hand work - it's great to have the motivation to spend more time actually doing stuff with him, I've been meaning to pick it up for ages, but there always seems to be something else to do.

Have a good weekend everyone - have fun and stay safe. Another one wishing for rain for down under. x

Cross posted with you Bernster - sending healing wishes to F. xx

Good luck to all who are out and about!
My 6yo is still on field rest so nothing exciting happening as has been the usual for the last 4.5 months, although he is having his feet trimmed on Saturday if that counts. He's been back out properly for just over 3 weeks now and he is a
so much happier, as is my 22yo for having his buddy back. He's loving being out 24/7 despite having a sparse winter coat compared to the other one!

More long reining and de-sensitising work with B2. Hopefully he has remembered everything from our last session.

Me and B1 may pop out for a hack. After so long out of the saddle, trying to find every excuse not to I'm finally getting motivated to ride again.

Hope everyone has a fab (not to soggy) weekend in the UK and wishing for rain down under.

Rose had her back checked today, so hacking tomorrow and light schooling on Saturday. Day off on Sunday unless I hack as off to AM Dressage for three days on Monday. I'm going to take Rose's new double with me, not sure if she's ever worn one or not, I suspect not!
Don't forget your saddle AE!
Sorry to hear about Finn, Bernster.
Good luck with the tests MP

We're going show jumping for the first time in agesssss... And jumping in the arena that Chill decked me in three times in a row in three years ago that I haven't been back to since. Any positive vibes appreciated as I am nervous to the extreme! She will get the chance to wear her new navy pad and ears though, so at least there's that! I bought them thinking they're a good alternative for a white pad on a grey horse in the winter and they will look nice with my grey jacket.

Here she is modelling the (slightly large) ears this evening.

Finally got her full cheek Waterford in too! She schooled beautifully in it this evening so if anyone knows of a dressage legal bit she might like as much then let me know :p

Have fun this weekend everyone!

We are having two lessons this weekend, a show jumping lesson tomorrow and cross country on Sunday. I am looking forward to it because I've been feeling a bit stuck recently and need some pointers.

Going to take the boys for a nice hack tonight and I also need to clean all my gear. it's a a sweaty dusty mess!

Dressage tomorrow for me and we will either have supercob or knob the cob and who knows which will come off the box! Either way, it's our first stressage so it will just be nice to get out and do something I think. We too shall be debuting our bronc rodeo skills canter (it will be one of the three!)
And a chill out on sunday

I'm not having a great time if and I'm going to use this weekend to make a firm decision as to if I want to sell J. I think the answer is probably yes but I want to do some research on some sales liveries and have a chat with them and go from there.

Gutted is an understatement :(

Sorry to read this, I hoped you had been turning a corner with him. Big hugs whatever you decide. xx

Its not his fault. He is such a sweet boy but can get so anxious and I just don't think I'm doing him any favours :( The loss of D has hit me had as well and I just feel like my heart is done x

Dressage lesson on Deedee. She was on springs! She is feeling VERY well and within 10 minutes of riding a horse who was extremely fizzy, I was in tears and got off her saying someone else can bring her back into work! And I'll ride her again when she's not quite so full of beans. But my very patient RI persuaded me to get back on and we ended up having a good lesson. I felt better once I realised that the jogging/cantering on the spot etc was not going to turn into bronccing/going mental! And once I was brave enough to properly ride her forward she settled and did some lovely work.

I've not really ridden Deedee yet. I never rode her pre ulcers - Then I rode her for my RI for 10 minutes when we suspected ulcers to show her the behaviour we were worried about. And I hacked her out in walk for 20 minutes yesterday. And that's it. Izzy has done all the riding up till now but with Izzy's surgery looming I figured I'd better start. So I am pleased to get that first 'proper' ride out of the way and hopefully I will be more confident next time.

She's lovely and there is no malice whatsoever in her. She's just fresh and a bit giddy!

Thanks for all those sending rain, it's somewhat working and we have had some tonight!
Fully expect to rock up to find ponies muddy, would be a dream come true

Yesterday/tonight was pretty bad with a big weather front coming through that was warned for gales, being preceded by temperatures up to 40C. We won't know the extent of damage and fire spread until they send the surveillance flights back up. I suspect the main fire front has advanced more towards us. Ho hum, at least the forecast is for milder conditions with some(!) rain forecast this coming week.

Hope everyone has a great weekend :)

Scrap that, have withdrawn. Changed the bar in the saddle, clearly the wrong way, and even if I change it the other way she’s clearly very sore in her back from it so absolutely no point doing anything. Physio coming next week but can’t get a saddle fitter until the end of the month so guess I won’t be doing any riding for the rest of the month
