Weekend plans for 17th/18th Aug!!

I've booked the day off tomorrow even though it doesn't start until the evening...

Got a jumping lesson in the evening, on Sat have a flat lesson, a dressage test, and a Derby/SJ competition.

On Sunday we have XC schooling...

Oh and a meal out on Sat evening :)

I've prioritized son and his pony so much this summer, time for Fionn and I to get out and have some fun.

I am supposed to be taking The Wee Coloured Job showing on Saturday but that is in doubt. Hopefully we will find out early on tomorrow before I spend the best part of 2 hours scrubbing and painting him 😂😂😂

Do you think your show might be cancelled???

Our forecast is horrid for tonight and tomorrow morning, and then OK over the weekend.

Yeah! Kinross show was cancelled last weekend. This weekend is the Shetland Show and whilst all parking is on tarmac the rings are on grass and it's not great on a good day let alone on a wet day! So it may be another weekend of twiddling my thumbs lol! Or not! I will get a head start on sorting out the 2 shows I am running next year.

Parking on tarmac is terribly helpful though, fingers crossed for you :)

I hope you get nice weather for fence judging on Sunday.....

No doubt I'll have pics, as hubby is coming to watch bits of it....

I'm meant to be taking my boy to a fun ride near Ross on Wye on Saturday, bit of a way to go for a fun ride but I'm meeting a friend from Cardiff so it's half way(ish) between us.

However, I have come down with an absolute stinker of a cold, courtesy of baby - cheers, you little germ factory! If I still feel like I do today I'll be fit for nothing :( fingers crossed for a decent night's sleep tonight and tomorrow and feeling better by Saturday!

Fiona, adult camp sounds amazing, I'm going to one at the end of the month, can't wait!

I am taking the Connie to a local show to try our luck at the in hand and ridden M&M classes. Never done anything like it before and have cobbled together second hand outfit for very little money just in case I don't enjoy it. I put it all on this afternoon to make sure it fits and my sister commented it's the smartest she has seen me looking for ages. I wasn't sure whether to be pleased or offended 🤣

Hope fence judging, shows and fun rides go ahead and those at camp have a wonderful time.

Moping, mainly... Kira has picked up an injury so is off for the forseeable. The prognosis is good but it's wiped out all our plans for the autumn/winter and racked up a delightful bill. Booo.

Darcy is on the fast-track trainathon now, he's got some big hoofprints to fill. Unfortunately he's got to keep her company on 2 weeks of box rest so could be rather jolly. i will try working him twice a day over the weekend to see if that keeps on top of him o_O

Sounds like great fun fiona

I hope your show isn't cancelled EKW

Good luck at your show lindylouanne

I have a lesson on Saturday with new (ish) dressage trainer then we are going out to dressage on Sunday, hoping for more relaxation this time. Will be doing Nov 37 and Nov 38 :)

Oh no!! Poor Kira. And poor you. Glad there is a good prognosis but what a shame to wipe you out for the rest of the year.

Oh no, really sorry to hear this mp :(
thanks, is a gigantic poop. think she must have twanged herself getting up from rolling because a little dink appeared on her face at the same time. at least our last ride was a good one, I reminded myself only recently to always enjoy every session just cos you never know when you will have to stop *grumble grumble*

Ooh have they? We’re meant to be fence judging there tomorrow and Sun... must see if I’ve had an email!

Oh no!!! I really hope it’s a speedy and full recovery for her.

Marathon training with the pony and a borrowed carriage at Hallaton for me in preparation for a one day event next weekend. What I really should be doing is practicing my dressage as our marks were abysmal last time, but I can never turn down the opportunity to fling us round solid obstacles. I suspect I may come to regret this next weekend when the pony, pretty truthfully, claims she has no idea what a circle or bend is 😂 😂

Adult camp sounds fun! As does driving training, LW.

Nothing doing here. If there's a dry couple of days I'll put some jumps out in the other field and have a play with Dae. Might do some shooting from a pony. Somehow it's Friday tomorrow and I've not even strung my bow since last week - between hacking and physio for the mare (who was unusually lacking sore spots apparently), and feeling like hell, I've not done anything much. Need to get a grip, summer's nearly done and I've not achieved anything yet :o

Have fun at camp Fiona!!
That's a real pain MP, just when things were going so well!
I'm off to Euston Park for our first FEI 1*. I'm pretty excited as this year I will be able to do the mass start and just enjoy it! I think there are about 140 entered so it could be interesting. I just want to get round in one piece and qualify to do a 120k, which has become my next goal.
Good luck everyone hope the weather holds, although having checked the weather for Euston, I could do with it being a bit colder!!

Phoebe Buckley jumping clinic if the dog gets back from the vets in time...fingers crossed... 2nd ever dr comp on Sunday. Praying for NO RAIN as he does NOT appreciate driving rain!

That’s rotten news MP.

Sorry to those who are rained off or not feeling it.

On a high after the perfect horsey evening. Upside of the rain is that the jump paddock is finally useable. Had the most amazing lesson, best we’ve ever jumped. Felt awesome. Then out into the stubble field for a trot out and canter back.

Then off for a little play around xc course with a friend on Saturday before I head off for a ranch holiday in Montana. Whoop.

Sorry about Kira MP, that does suck. Bit of TB time for you now though 'eh?

Hope it doesn't rain for everyone else, hope the rain comes here for a change.
I'll probably be doing more of this:

Plus trying to entertain a very bored TB who is following me around the paddocks wanting to do SOMETHING. Not until the hole in her leg heals more unfortunately

Have a great weekend all :)

So sorry to read about Kira MP - that’s rubbish :(. At least you have your new one to keep you busy!

Good luck to those getting out and about (good luck in the weather!) and enjoy camp Fiona - they’re always a good laugh!

Nothing on for me - the loan horse I tried last weekend didn’t work out so I’m revitalising that search. There are a couple in East Anglia that I’ve been contacted about, so I’m debating whether to do the 3 hour drive over there one day. It’s a lot of driving if neither are suitable though!

that's a shame J1ffy - if the horses are suitable and the owners definitely willing for them to move then I would go - at least there's a couple of them :)

With my horse off games for a month, I'm back to scoring tomorrow for a derby organised by EI. Its not too far away and not too early a start so that's reasonable at least. Touch is struggling to comprehend field life, wondering where his servants are and why lunch is not being provided in a bucket at regular intervals...

Fiona- my bestie is also at your camp, with her TB doing lots of things for the first time. Hope you all have a blast.
MP I'm sorry about Kira, it always seems to be when things are going well. Hopefully you have another one to play with in the meantime.
Bernster- well jealous about your Montana adventures, have a fantastic time.

Hope everyone has great fun & the weather plays nice!!

Sorry to hear about Kira, MP. Hoping for a straight forward and speedy recovery for her.
Working on Saturday but trying to decide whether to go to Somerford for the day on Sunday, will maybe see how the weather is! Or there's the possibility of a fast car day at our local garage!
And that's me off work for 9 days, thank goodness!
