Aaaaaand over the hump into the afternoon. Anyone got stuff planned this weekend?

Quiet one for us, Salty had the physio this morning as she's done 6 weeks work and it seemed like a good time to take stock. All good so we can press on. Easy day for her tomorrow and then might get her out for a short trip in the horsebox over the weekend to make sure she's still got sea legs :o try and find somewhere to hire for a change of scenery too if there's time.

Nothing much for K, she's just in consolidation mode now, lots to practice after our lesson last week tightening things up ready for shows in the new year.

Yard xmas bash on Saturday - mounted games etc (NO neither of my mounts are suitable :p) and then the now-traditional xmas shopping trip with OH on Sunday (why do men do their shopping on xmas eve ?! :eek3:)

Have a good one everyone :)

Not much here reallY. Dec is a bit of a write off horse wise but F doesn't mind having a break! Flatwork lesson tonight, if I have time will try and do some jump practice on Saturday (I always seem to find excuses not to practice!) in between last minute shopping and wrapping ! Not sure about Xmas eve but suspect it will be a day at home mooching around and trying to get into the spxmas spirit!

No competing for us until Jan but will start to plan stuff then.

Fairly quiet for us, finally finish work tomorrow ...yaay... was going to go for a festive hack - but instead have hired a lovely big arena with two show jump courses already set up, on Saturday morning - going with my sister and two others to have a bit of fun course jumping.
hacking or schooling Sunday morning then Christmas can begin !! looking forward to time off work and hopefully plenty of horse time , fitted around usual family stuff !

Nothing doing here. Usual routine of schooling and ponying out for the orange pony, and hacking-while-ponying-everything-else-out for Fergus, just with added tinsel... Although I did discover today that getting carried away doing canter work may make her sweat, but the tinseled breastplate makes her foam :p

Usual stuff - friend coming over tomorrow to hack out & bringing her 10yr old on his pony too.
Out tomorrow night for DH works xmas do, so have got a mate in to cover early morning Fuzzy check.
Then just bowling about like an eejit hacking all over weekend & xmas day, tho Tuesday currently looks dire on the weather forecast, so might not make boxing day meet as am dry weather (and not sub zero temps either) rider :)

Hope everyone has a good weekend :)

Just taking the Landrover to be fixed for me - yayyyyy, hurry up new year so I can get it back :)

Nothing at the actual weekend but arena hire next Thursday and arena Eventing next Friday for us :)

I’m also hoping to have some intensive tuition during my time off work, YO is jumping Jensen today which is fantastic but I do also need to learn how to do it myself :)

There are quite a few shows on this weekend but I have too much non horsey stuff to sort out

I will hack out probably on sat, sun and boxing day and then I will hopefully get to the beach one day next week

Just taken my oversized pony to rectory farm for a school over their showjumps.
He was mind blowing awesome. Straight around a full course of BSJA fillers without batting an eyelid.

He has Physio tomorrow then some hacking before my Christmas prezzie to myself, a couple of days at AMD .... it’s been nearly 3 years since I’ve been Adam’d!!

My pony has been away at bootcamp all week with my instructor so will go and have a lesson on Saturday then bring him home. Sunday was planning a yard tinsel hack but the forecast is terrible and most people haven't hacked for weeks due to ice so don't think there are any takers for that!

Tomorrow hoping to finish work about 12, got farrier in the afternoon and hope to get a short ride in before going over to a mates for fish, chips and processco.
Saturday, may get a ride in plus walking the dogs over at Richmond park
Sunday - working over at Richmond park riding all day.

Tomorrow and Saturday is work! Though to be honest it's not too bad at the mo as we are getting the yard done and then splitting the shift to return about 3.30pm to finish off. Means I can get my two done in the break. We still get paid for the whole day so it's like getting paid to ride my own pony. Result! Chilli had a really positive lesson on Monday so we are just continuing to build on that. Christmas Eve will mostly be spent pony patting and playing as all my Christmas prep is done! I won't be going on our yards Christmas Eve hack as Chilli gets far too excited in large groups and Trapper isn't up to all the faster work that'll be done. A shame really as I'm sure he'd love to go for a CE pint!!

Horses are having a break although may jump one next weekend so I will mostly be trawling through for sale ads. Good luck to everyone who is out and about

I have a jumping clinic tomorrow morning. The first of 3 I've booked to celebrate finishing my masters. After that I'm off to collect a foster greyhound for Christmas to allow the kennels to close.

Nothing too exciting, but just thought I would share the fairy lights my mum gave Chilli to decorate her stable for Christmas. They are red hot chilli peppers :p

Also, I had my last schooling session before Christmas today. We had an amazing lesson on the 18th focusing on keeping her more uphill amongst other things, and this is a pic of her schooling today. No reason to share really other than I'm proud. There is a bit of resistance in this pic but the rest of the video was too blurry to screenshot really-the joys of a badly lit indoor arena!! I adore this horse, I couldn't love her any more if I tried. It's a shame because we do have mostly lovely relaxed work and this pic makes me cringe because of the resistance but I think it shows how much she has changed shape and how much stronger she has become. Love her.

I had an excellent clinic. He kept his *****o together as my dad succinctly put it on Facebook. I was worried he would be the most green, but actually, although he was the most inexperienced at going to parties, his basics were probably more established than the others.

Chilli, I love the Xmas lights. And there is a LOT to like on that photo.

I put up a little course yesterday. Took me longer to put the thing up than it did to school round it, and as usual I left it too late so was chasing the light But he was forward, seemed quite keen and perked up at the jumps, we jumped everything a few times, and ended up doing a course. Not always pretty (mainly me riding defensively) but jumped them all with no stops or hesitation. Yay.

Only tiny as that's what I need to focus on jumping and not freak out about the height, but I feel like we're on the right road. Jump lesson on Wed when ins makes me jump proper heights (to me, that's 80).

Thank you Bernster!
Sounds like a very successful session for yourself too :)

Oo, chilli is looking good RO
I'm unwinding, and taking stock of a pretty full on year.
I haven't hacked for 2 weeks because of snow, ice and then weekday darkness, so am hacking him out on Christmas morning with numerous family foot followers, which could be a little chaotic, but I wouldn't want to ruin mother's schedule for the day :D And tonight my Aunt wants me to give her a lesson on him - she hasn't ridden in years, and there will probably be alcohol involved, so it should be good for a giggle at least

Disappointed you're not playing gymkhana on either of yours MP. Surely it's a photo opportunity too good to miss?!?

Worked yesterday....

First drive of the new one (broken in for commercial style driving in sept, been doing pairs with shetlands since) today :D (Didn't even drive him viewing him....)

Squint hard and you can see the pair they'll become- picture is of Cs first drive as his recent pics aren't a fair comparison :p

Also did some schooling with C who is just too geeky, really nailing pretty much everything I can teach him now- in just 9 months of driving and only 3 of those concentrated! Finished off yielding both ways nicely and getting his canter strike offs from the centre line correct both of which are in the singles advance test. Photo from Ester driving him last weekend for reference :p

First ride of the new one planned for tomorrow, if I don't eat too much!

Can't see your vid unfortunately CM :(

Like the look of your new one R, and golden boy is looking really super in that pic with Ester

I'm sorry, never mind the jumping clinic, we need pics of your foster greyhound please :) :) :)

yup work today work Christmas day - work boxing day work tuesday work work work for the next well indefinitely no day off.

Oh God - YET another whinge about your workload! Why not try being positive about how lucky you are to have your own yard, horses on the doorstep, and no need to commute to the office every day.

I haven't had a day off since 2015 - I wouldn't dream of whining about it, because I think I'm pretty lucky to spend my days doing what I love.

New one is terrific, but I love this photo <3

Give Dexter 18 months (he has my favourite long back bum high base narrow hind limbs confo mix) and he’ll be there too :p He’s (obviously) much plainer but he’s so much my ‘sort’! He’s my old 2 crossed in Cheeris height.

I have to admit I’m relieved to not be working :p It’s been an emotionally battering few weeks work wise.
