Weekend Plans

also off to YHL, OH is farrier on duty so will be long days I think :) Never been before so hoping I can work out the various demos etc and see something other than just trade stands! :lol:

Lesson on Tuesday, should have been today but had a meeting shoved into my calendar which was then cancelled this morning, grrrr. Hey ho, another 2 days to practice ;)

I was out last weekend and super Gracie was super again getting 2nd in both the Disco & 1.05. Dad the chauffer is off on hols this week so another week at home for us! My baby horse is off to bootcamp for a few weeks tommorow :) less mucking out for me! (And less money...)
 
We were supposed to have a forest hack with a friend on Saturday, but she has cancelled on me :(

Have a mini dressage competition on Sunday though.. for 5yo and his pony. Texching him the test is proving a challenge lol, and I'm going to call it to him..

We have a filthy living out pony too ddraig-wen :(

Have a 9am SJ session booked for tomorrow morning. Was really looking forwards to it as is v good coach, just back from Spain, but not only my ankle is playing up, but also my hip :(
So this morning I've grabbed a lovely young rider (usually goes off doing BE etc) to stand in for me instead :) Looking forwards to watching session, just naffed off at my oldness as I know I couldn't do the full time with pedals up etc...
She said it would be an education for them both :)
 
I was off today so had a long hack, well 2 hours is long to me! Quick wizz round the roads tomorrow as the weather is supposed to rubbish. Got a 70 th birthday tea nd cocktails in the afternoon ;) which should be fun.
Lesson on Sunday which I'm looking forward to as haven't had once in over a month and my trainer had lots of things she wants to work on with us after our first 90 the other week.

Hunting on a (v kind) friend's horse tomorrow 😊 Can't wait- my first time out this year. Both my boys off work with various ailments so not ridden for 4 weeks- me thinks I may be a bit sore on Monday!
 
Just general schooling and maybe a hack if the weather quietens down, it currently sounds like a hurricane.

Gonna hopefully do a little jumping as I am hoping to try and do the wobbleberry challenge unofficially next year so I need to get practicing once a week on jumps. Tiny ones first and build up very slowly.
 
Ooh we haven't had a weekend plans thread for ages! Good luck and have fun everyone who's out and about, v jealous of those going to YHL!

No riding plans for me but G is off to his rehab holiday home on Saturday afternoon, for 4 weeks; they've got an equine water treadmill so it will do him the world of good. I'm going to really miss him but I'm really looking forward to the break to be honest.
 
I was up at 4:00 this morning and decided to make our Christmas cake. That's now in the oven which will leave me the rest of the day to potter with the horses. So some good grooming sessions, some lunging and groundwork today, then a hack tomorrow.
 
Day off most likely as I hate riding in the rain. forecast is better for tmrw so planning on taking him to my old instructor for a lesson.
 
urgh why are so many horses lame, FW?! Why would you advertise a lame horse :( People are so weird sometimes.

Mixed review of YHL, I was a first timer and found 2 days a bit much. Not enough to watch really - had to be on site from 8am to 5.30pm so a lot of pottering around and as I have to save all my pennies at the mo, only window shopping.

Enjoyed the dressage freestyle displays with Gaynor Colbourn though, I really liked the way she talked about selecting/adjusting music and working with riders on floorplans etc... very knowledgeable and approachable, also seemed a more bespoke service than some others but without the crazy Tom Hunt price tag!! Have to save up and get her to help me put something together for Kira next year.
 
My mare has been away to bootcamp so have only sat on her now and again for the past few weeks. Have a lesson on a schoolmaster on Saturday morning - will report back if I can still walk on Sunday...
