Can't see another thread so thought I'd kick it off this time :)

Cheeky trip out to Summerhouse for a couple of elementary tests for kira tomorrow, hopefully get started on our summer qualifications.hadn't planned to do any shoes before Christmas but I was getting itchy feet. Will be first tests since introducing the double bridle, she feels mega at home and arena hire so hoping that will continue at a show.
Quiet couple of days after that, but of teaching and hacking.

What's everyone else up to?

Hope you'll have a tame tog in tow I would love to see how she's going now.

We are going to a Christmas SJ show with the posh foreigners. I am dressing my Daughter's pony up as Pegasus. Well it's in the planning stage at the moment anyway! Cyprian is just going as himself but we are both doing the tinsel top score.

I'm another who wants Kira photos, come to Beacons again and I'll do it! :p

No hunting for us on Saturday as I'm now out Friday night and won't be in any fit state for a 6am start. Fun ride Sunday instead, leaving from a local yard. I'm hoping to get a grip on some of Mads' more 'undesirable' behaviour when hacking in a group, wish me luck <gulp>.

Good luck to all those competing, I'm off for a side saddle lesson. I thought it sounded like a good idea when I booked it a few months ago!!

Posh Foreigners! :D :D

My Posh Foreigner and I are off to our Riding Club members show on Sunday for our second go at Novice which is exciting, she feels excellent at home so hoping we can re-create it elsewhere! We are also having a bash at the Christmas dressage to music - this is the first time i've done DTM and its been really fun, our score is Rudolph the red-nose reindeer into frosty the snowman, both of which have been stuck in my head constantly all week.

We are also going full out in the fancy dress steaks! :D

I finished my night shifts this morning, so I've not been up the yard/ridden since Tuesday. Today though I'll go up for 1 to watch my mum's lesson, then try Marv out in the new bit (trying a Tom Thumb to see if it gives us any more brakes when trying to canter out hacking in company... I may as well not be on board in the eggbutt snaffle). If all goes well in the school I'll take him out on a hack with my friend - try a canter and have him in front and see if that makes a difference as well  I've got my work Christmas do Saturday night so planning to be very hungover... Probably won't ride sunday! On annual leave next week though so have 7 whole days to play ponies.

Next week I'm going to the same friend's for a hot tub and wine night, she's just bought a new lorry so we're going to plan our first/second/etc outings! So not a bad few days lined up... :D

Kira's looking fab MP :)
Between lots of child related christmas events Annie is off for her first RC clinic on Sunday she's only had solo lessons so far, although she does get worked in an arena with another horse this will be her first group lesson, she's also had her first full set of shoes on this week (only managed to get fronts on the first time) so lots of firsts for us :)

Off to some arena event training with les Smith tomorrow. Thinking about riding club Christmas show on Sunday, need to dig out some tinsel.

how's everyone's weekend going?
Kira was rather cheerful at the dressage but that's such an improvement on the old problem of closing down, so big grins here :biggrin3:
Came back with some ribbons and points towards summers so mission accomplished, now contemplating making her (unaff) medium debut after xmas with a view to doing a few BD mediums starting in Jan for AFs... exciting times.

Quiet bit of hacking for us all yesterday and today, horses have been stuck in since Thursday because of the rain so they were delighted to go out for the afternoon today :) Hope Millie is just mooching about and not hooning round in the mud :o

Went for a lovely hack on my youngster. She is coming on sweetly and her confidence is growing. I only manage to ride at weekends but she just picks up where we left off. Enjoying riding again after a 4 year break and having backed her myself this autumn makes me very happy.

We didn't die

We were very bouncy but she was a very good baby horse :D

This is so exciting!

We were at our riding clubs members only Christmas Dressage today, i thought this would be a great time to test Ruby at novice again, our last attempt was ok, but it was very much a prelim(ish) horse having a go, this time though, she was AMAZING! We've had a couple of lessons with another instructor and Rubys just transformed, we managed to win the class by a clear 3% on 77.38%. We also had a bit of fun with the dressage to music class and put together a score to Rudolph the Red nosed Reindeer and Frosty the snowman and a low Novice level floor plan, once again she was phenomenal and won the class on a HUGELY generous 90.5% although the scoring was a combination of usual test marks and costume/ enjoyability/ music/ floorplan so we won't be troubling Charlotte and carl just yet! :D But it was huge fun, i'll try and get some photos and videos up

Sounds great :D we did our first clinic, Annie behaved impeccably, we did our first attempt at more than 1 jump and some poles at a time finishing with a short course of 4 fences :) few baby errors and we were a bit quick but really pleased with her

I love Kira, she gives me hope for my delinquent Sec D!

No riding for me this weekend or for a while - broken 2 bones in my hand/wrist 😡. I can't even pick up a cup of tea! And I'm booked to go snowboarding in 6 weeks so I'm having a bit of a panic about everything.

So chuffed, she's really grown up recently, and she tries so hard which is 80% of the game! Is that Kira's new bridle or Millies? it really suits her!

Oh no, wishing you a speedy recovery! How did you manage that?

She's looking fab!

Thank you! :D

great attitude certainly makes the difference :)

It's millie's bridle but I bought her a new noseband, this one is cut back around the bit rings so it sits a bit better. Decided I had more pressing things to spend money on, like, uh, christmas presents... boooo :biggrin3:

I know that feeling, Chritsmas getting in the way of competing efforts - boo!

Thats the bit i like, Noseband really suits her and i love the design, what make is it?

It's from FSS , got it on ebay. It has buckles both sides which actually didn't suit this bridle but the seller had a headpiece bit to convert it :)

<3 <3 <3 Kira can come and live with me any time! Am I right in thinking you ride her in an Equipe?

A bit too much prosecco, high heels, and stairs <embarrassed>. My hopes of finally getting eventing next season are getting more and more distant :(.

Your Ruby is looking great, I liked your Xmas D2M :).
