Weekend plans

I went off and did my first medium test as a test ride with a list 1 judge. It was as windy as hell and Mr B was a bit silly in the warm up as it's adjacent to the horse walker, which he's terrified of, so I almost "chickened out". It also meant he wasn't as through as I'd have liked him, however, bit the bullet and kicked on, so to speak. He was great really, got a bit tense in the collected walk, I spoiled a couple of the half passes because I got insufficient bend at the start, then found his q's were leading and one of my 10m canter circles was too big but generally it was an OK test and I scored 64%+. I was really thrilled with him, my med/ext canters and trots got 7's and a 7.5 and he came back to me well as he can get a bit strong and onward bound. It was a huge confidence boost although I have to admit I rode it in rising trot and judge agreed not to mark me down. So, sitting trot has to be mastered!!!

Dressage today! 1st time ever for Moomin and 1st time out for me in 6 months due to broken main horse.

Well, top marks for the horse, sack the jockey. 68.04% in intro C with an error of course...threw away the red...argh!! Still, better than i could have hoped for in a huge class (19!) on his first time out. Big range of marks too with the winner 0.5 ahead of us and the lower mark at 40 something. Could not be more please with everything about the day other than the fact it was impossible to get his feathers clean and dry. :) What a fab start to his career!!
