Scrolled up and down but can't see a thread yet

So... what's everyone up to?

Kira has 2 elementaries at Burrows Court tomorrow, new venue for her and I haven't been there for years so will be nice to have a change of scene. I'm sick of riding them now and she's more than ready to crack on at medium, but we still have some pesky points to get for regionals due to an unfortunate good-nature-malfunction last time out... :rolleyes3:

Millie will hack in the morning as school booked up at the yard for various clinics and then do a bit of tempis boot camp on Sunday :D

Meeting another HHOer on Sun for some test riding practice and then probably should do something about mother's day

Have fun all!

Am off to M/Wood shortly for a whp school session at late lunchtime today.
Tomorrow hacking with friends.
Sunday am entered for my 1st sj comp in about 30 years!
Poor NF isn't going to know whats happening! :)

Good luck for tomorrow on Kira Millipops :)

Off to ponies uk winter championship :) In the championship novice class tomorrow then a RI amateur class, home produced in the evening performance then another RI class Sunday :)

I'm doing my first ever Team Quest competition where myself and Dangerous Brian have got to try and and convince the judge that what we are trying to perform is Prelim 2, in an arena where he was once given a ban from playing horseball......................I'm not confident!

Good luck all - Wimbles that sounds like it could get ... interesting :D :D
We're off for a xc/sj clinic tomorrow morning although there's been a slight change of plan as Annie has currently decided that she doesn't want to turn left so I want to work on that in private (and investigate the reasons for it), so I'm taking my brother's project horse... who has never done a clinic... or xc... and I've sat on twice and managed to jump a cross pole on before running out of time and having to finish up... bit of practice required tonight I think :D
If we survive all that it's the local p2p tomorrow afternoon so with the promised good weather we shall be off up there for an afternoon out :)

Good luck all!

Nothing very exciting for us. Won't be riding tomorrow as there is an OCR run on the premises, so that's a little too spooky for hacking!

Will go for a nice hack on Sunday morning.

Good luck all :).

I'm taking Topaz BD'ing on Sunday, we are going for it, seizing the moment, having a bash, taking a leap of faith, not looking back and might not pass go, but what's a bad score between friends . I'm hopeful we may get regional/AF points in the medium mind!

A quiet day tomorrow, probably just a lunge as I have lots of non-horsey stuff to be getting on with :( then going XC schooling on Sunday, will be first time out on grass since last year... not sure how I'm feeling about that, might need to take a change of underwear :D

Best of luck to all competing, look forward to the reports next week :)

Oh fabulous sounds like some fun plans. Good luck to the BD contingent for a successful and score busting (in a good way) set of outings.

Very excited rara for your showing event, best of luck.

And lankyloll I hope things aren't too eventful fro you on the new horse!

Busy week at work following by an equally busy weekend. Fence judging for the first time ever on Saturday at Munstead which is over an hour commute and then a looooong day so will be pooped I think.

Then an early ish start time, bearing in mind the clocks go forward, for RAF Halton madness on Sunday. Eek. Took F last year and he was super, and I finally did jump that flipping plane. No reason to think he'll be bad this time around and we'll be on a group of two so should be easier, but he has been a teeny bit feisty in larger group sessions lately so I'm a bit nervous. But then Im always a bit nervous! Also need to head up tonight to get the lorry ready for the early morning start on Sunday. Busy buy.

Have fun all and I hope to be able to post my second ever plane jumping photo after this weekend

Good luck to everyone out competing!

We've got another clinic this weekend, this time with James Munro, who I've never had lessons from before, but I'm told is very good. We have FW tomorrow and poles, hopefully a bit of jumping on Sunday. I'm really hoping he can help us with our canter work.

Good Luck to all those out competing, not much happening here sadly, as my silly boy came in Thursday morning looking lame, after investigation pretty sure he has a foot abscess brewing, so he is currently poulticed and duct taped up and out in field to try and get it to burst !
looked a lot better this morning, so we shall see once had another good look and dig around later on!

Good luck all! I am boring and stuck at home still! My new little lorry should hopefully be ready in 2 weeks though. So 2 more weeks stuck at home then i'll be out and about all over the place with any luck in my gorgeous little lorry!

Another hack tomorrow to try and find the fitness we both have lost while I have been poorly for nearly 3 months. I hadn't realised that the chest infections had affected me so much until I found, after the first hack which was only a walk on my oldie, that not only that I could not breathe properly but when I got home I couldn't dismount!

On Sunday I will be doing the fortnightly deep ( ish ) litter mucking out.

Good Luck all those out competing tomorrow!

Lots of abcess bursting vibes Monte!

Have a lesson tonight, have got some new music and floorplan for some FSM so will try and give that a run through.

Off to Munstead tomorrow as groom for a friend, getting jittery now, only 36days until our season starts!

Then working Sunday but might go for a jump afterwards!

Taking the foreigners to be weighed is going to be the highlight of my weekend 😕

Although I am bringing Daisy back into work so a little hack on her too. Don't laugh:

I have no plans. Other than that I plan to play around with the ponies, just as ponies are meant to be played with all weekend.

in an arena where he was once given a ban from playing horseball......................

How the devil did you manage that?!

Just been out long reining the baby Connemara. Very pleased with him he's becoming really bold and keen, I am such a big fan of long reining babies out hacking it's paying off already. Hopefully he will have enough muscle soon to be carrying me most of the time!

Had an excellent WHP schooling session yesterdy at M/Wood, and this morning had a glorious xc ride round nearly 6 miles of undulating countryside - weather as good as it gets, good breeze - and plenty of jumping & the odd gallop too :cool3:

Am now a bit ambivalent about going to SJ comp tomorrow morning (the shame! :rolleyes3: ) especially as its clock change day......

FW, am not laughing, she's cute :)

Don't usually post and not sure what has come over me but...today not doing much with my chap as he has just come back into work after some undiagnosed knock/bruise, though we did a,quick and hilly 5 miles yesterday: all was good! Tomorrow I will ride up to the open hill where our 2 ponies have been wintering and my 2 children, OH and me will pony them the 5 miles back home to start their summer riding season. This is always cause for much celebration in the house! The ponies (who are 14 and 15hh ) have wintered really well so we will give them an easy few days then gently start work. I am hoping to have a sneaky pop over some of the hunt jumps I meet on my way up...only just finding my jumping mojo after a few non jumping years. Looking forward to a busy day!

She's the other Fuzzy Furry!

Im glad you mentioned the clocks changing I had no idea!!

Sounds like you are having a great weekend.

I got the boys weighed. The eejit is still not sound but farrier looking at him early this week which I am pleased about. Dutch who is a Netherlands Newforest Pony is 352kgs on the bridge and Cyprian who is WB is 629kgs. I reckon Cyprian needs about 50kgs of muscle. Dutch I am very pleased with as he is a difficult pony to feed and is 18. He's put on weight this winter.

I was within 10kgs of each of them with my guesstimate. The weigh tape was nearly 100kgs out on Cyprian!

Then it was home for some naked turnout. Nearly 20c in Scotland today! Even Dutch thinks it's warm enough to lose his rug for a couple of hours.

Having been so pleased with our first stab at medium last weekend, I was devastated to find Mr B was very lame on Friday so all the weekend plans have been cancelled. No vet available on Friday but vet came out today and despite absolutely no heat in the hoof, which made me fear the worst, it appears to be shoe related. He is very sore though so not sure when he will be back in work which may disrupt next weeks plans too but as long as he becomes sound, I can live with that. Good luck to everyone else though!

Awww daisy supercob :) no laughing here either!

Mission accomplished chez Kira, needed 5 points of any kind to qualify and got 9 (and some lolly ;) )so that's her summer ele qualification sorted. Hurrah! Medium all the way for us now (might do a single strategic ele test to qualify for Welsh champs at mount ballan as it's the same date as their area festival so will be there anyway). But still, goodbye and good riddance elementary

Super stuff Millie, what a journey you two are having!

Did the plane again today at Halton. Yay for plane jumping. Hopefully photo evidence to add in the next few days. F really isn't liking the stop-starting business, which happened a bit during the early part, although he was better behaved today and no unplanned dismounts on my side. But once we got into the big field and he could just go for it, he was away! Stormed round (nicely in control and with brakes!) and jumped loads of fences, inc a couple of the bonus ones. I'm happy with that - for the BE 80 he's going to need that go button

thanks :o I know, I'm so pleased it has turned out like this and I feel quite lucky tbh :) she may be just a little welsh cob but she's bl00dy good fun to train and then red frillies are the icing on the cake :)

Look forward to the photos :D

Well done milliepops, looking forward to seeing pics posted soon :)

Well, I set out and did everything on the check list. However, the whp schooling Fri (went very well) then the long xc ride yesterday took some gas out of NF, so we just popped quietly round the sj this morning for a clear round, which she did nicely but not quick enough for a frilly, but lots ticked off on the 'going out' list :)

How the devil did you manage that?!

By rearing in the faces of competitors, spinning, broncing and basically trying to be as difficult as possible for the poor girl that was riding him, whilst her Mother looked on aghast!

Anyway we arrived and he was he was a good boy to get ready, went in the warm up and he tried to find as many things to spook at as possible including the sunlight stripes on the floor, poles at the side of arena, a chair and a team who were dressed in yellow. At one point we were trying to canter circles and he's got his head on one side with his tongue lolling out and people were looking at me with great sympathy.

After a while I gave up and just stood there and it was probably a good tactic because he switched off. Went straight into the big indoor arena and the memories appeared to come flooding back to him, the boards were terrifying and he was snortling at the judges car as we came down the centre line feeling very tense. To his credit though I kept my leg on and he actually listened to me. He did absolutely everything that he was meant to and his right canter transition was sharp and controlled.

It certainly wasn't a winning test but I was thrilled and even better, our team of ex racehorses won!

Really looking forward to getting booked in to do some more Team Quest dressage now and improving.

Yesterday we went up to the Five Pits Trail and had hours of glorious hacking in the sunshine with the added bonus of them having a small gallops at the end which was great fun.

Feeling quite proud of my little self for doing all this just a few weeks after getting back on for the first time in 7 months :)

Good Luck all those out competing tomorrow!

Lots of abcess bursting vibes Monte!

thanks LeannePip :-)
he has now come completely sound and nothing at all revealed after poulticing wet and then dry. very odd, hoof still slightly warm, so my trainer friend thinks could be abcess somewhere in there which will try and track out again or maybe he just tweaked himself. I will have to keep an eye on it , rode last night and he was foot perfect.....
so fingers crossed x

Ended up at the beach on Saturday which completely tired the black beast out, so we had an under-powered dressage day yesterday. However both tests were a regional Q'ing score and a AF Q'ing score so clever black beast :D.

Well done all on your weekends :). Sounds like quite a breakthrough Wimbles to me and could he have bruised his foot monte1 my friend had one like that?

:D:D:D:D:D we getting a report on Leap of Faith's leap of faith? :p Great stuff :)

Good news monte, hope that was it and there are no more bumps in the road :) & Well done wimbles, sounds like a really positive outing.

My lovely friends took some pictures for me so was waiting for them :D, Topaz was in the bad books with mum at the beach anyway as she 'may' have deposited her :eek3:, Topaz did say she was sorry though...
