Me again :D

What's everyone up to?

Kira was supposed to have a lesson today which I was *really* looking forward to, I think we've made big progress in her tiny busy trot and tiny busy canter that was homework from last time.... we've got a working piri to the left and will have to the right when I stop clamping my inside leg down  But trainer is unwell :( boo. Plan b is probably going to be some long arena hire ideally with mirrors to run through some of the harder mediums and maybe have a sneaky play at an AM test just for kicks.

Got some entries in the PYO at Summerhouse on Saturday, not sure which horse will go yet but there's an outside chance it will be Millie, which she would love :o

Have fun all!

Watching event neddy at Howick on Saturday, moving horses around at some stage then continuing horse shopping on Sunday, tis getting boring now.

Our outdoor school is opening up after a winter of being bogged. I'm apparently first in on Saturday - and the next door farmer still has his cows over the hedge. Horse eating cows.

Forget dodgy hocks and sore muscles, I'm fully expecting some moves that will put Kira's to shame. Fat appaloosas can do capriole when they are about to be eaten by a cow.

I've got a rare weekend off so I though I would take the oportunity to do our first BD of the year on Saturday and it will also be the first one barefoot. We're doing a couple of novices and I'm hoping we can put last years pretty rubbish season behind us now now we're shoe (and pain) free. We've carried one AF qualifying score over from last year so I've got my fingers crossed we'll get the remaining two this weekend?! As usual I've been super prepared and only looked at the tests yesterday... spent this morning running through some bits and pieces. Our canter-trot-canter transitions leave quite a lot to be desired but I suppose it is quite a big ask after a night shift! :D Whatever happens it will be fun....I think!! :D

hehehe Millie would agree about the cows, I absolutely *have* to take Kira along on some of our hacking routes to provide Millie with cow-protection. She seems to think Kira is some kind of bovine bouncer. Kira is quite oblivious, she lived with cows for years but she enjoys tagging along for a hack anyway :D

Good luck :D

Hope everyone has a fun weekend :)

We have an arena XC techniques clinic on Saturday and then hopefully proper xc schooling on Sunday or Monday.

I usually never have lessons from anyone other than my fantastic regular instructor, so fingers crossed its not a damp squib :p

Nugz was due to be dressaging with a friend on Saturday, but due to a mix up with dates etc. his 2017 debut dressage will have to wait until April. I do need to pull my finger out though as having gone to the trouble of affiliating both of us, need to actually do something!

So I will be found travelling at Haffy warp speed around Somerford on Sunday :D

I can actually join in for a change!

I am off to dressage with a horse we thought would never be ridden again! Only a little unaff but after 2 years of rehabbing I can't wait haha

Oh that's exciting! Good luck!

I was meant to be having a quiet weekend, but then a lesson became available with Ernest Dillon on Saturday, and you don't often get chances like that round my way, so it would have been silly not to go. Though I'll happily admit I'm already more than a touch nervous. Last weeks jumping lesson with James Munro was fabulous, I managed more than one 70cm jump, in a dressage saddle, with no swearing, for anyone that's met me, they'll know this is a *massive* achievement. I've booked into a lesson with someone I'm told by the organiser doesn't want to jump big, I'm really hoping her idea of 'not big' is similar to mine!

Hubby was balloted out of event on Saturday, so he and son are going for a forest ride on Saturday, and then I'm going with the vet to have a pony vetted on Sunday..

Keep your fingers crossed please everyone, and good luck to all lucky enough to be competing :)

Have fun all!

A quiet one for us, no outings planned... got to do my homework of 'work the canter'! Then maybe a lunge or hack.

Ooh what a lot of cool activities going on this weekend. And it's so nice that the weather seems to be holding (fingers crossed).

Love the idea of a bovine bouncer MP. And great news for those out for the first time in a while.

After having a bonkersly busy few weeks, with two 6am starts last weekend for horse related activities, I have another 6am start on Saturday. Munstead baby xc in the 65cms, which I'm using as practice to see how we go in a comp environment. I've done a fair bit of training these last couple of months but I need to woman-up and actually try a competition.

I have a horrid feeling we may not make it out of the start box, but it's all experience. I had planned on taking him xc training today but I'm giving him a few easy days instead. He clonked his leg on a fence last weekend and it did swell up a bit, with a tiny bit of heat, but had gone down after some turnout. Apparently he's been fine this week, but I'll check him again tonight and tomorrow before deciding whether to take him on Saturday.

Quiet weekend here. I had a lesson last night so going to hack on Saturday with her sharer and then practice my homework on Sunday!
Good luck to all out competing!

Poo about your lesson, but at least you can dazzle him even more when its re-scheduled!

I have my fingers crossed Millie gets an outing!

I can barely think about the weekend yet, i have a 15 page assignment due tomorrow lunchtime that is not quite finished yet! :O

But when it comes to it i have work Saturday morning then may have a jump or go for a hack from there. Then Sunday we have the BD combined training at Wellington; Nov24 and 90cm which im really looking forward to!

Good luck to all those out and about, my boy has a hot hoof which appears to be festering a foot abscess, but can't get it to come out- despite poulticing, he is pretty much sound in field but gets footy on the concrete

so my lovely farrier coming to take off his shoe later today and have a proper dig - fingers crossed something will appear
i had forgotten till yesterday but horse had pulled off a front shoe about 4 weeks ago in field and farrier popped it back on for me. there was no heat or problem at the time, but I am wondering if something worked its way in when the shoe came off. so we shall see!!!

Nothing going on here as I'm still not able to do anything more than sit on her for 5 mins and walk a bit. I've totally failed to find a decent sharer for Mads and I wasn't 100% happy with how the 'pro' (who was being paid £15/hr to hack) was riding her so I've knocked that on the head too. Mad isn't very happy with not being in work and has taken up field hopping over massive hedges again . I'm not quite sure what to do with her at the moment - does anyone want a stroppy, opinionated, massive, very good at jumping (when she feels like it) Welsh D?

Long weekend for us, Friday sees Adorable Alice strut her stuff in a showing clinic with Robert and Claire Oliver, with a final decision being made whether she is a potential princess or a pit pony.

Saturday is 2 elem tests for Perfect Percy.

Sunday is another busy day for Alice who is being a cover girl for an open day at her veterinary practice. She has been part of their newsletter since her birth and all her mishaps and health care has been used for guidance. I haven't told her she is also the 'guess the weight' horse, if anyone calls her a fat bird she will pack her handbag and go home.

Have a great weekend and a successful one for all the competition horses.

First outing of the year for us :) we're off for a jolly with a local distance riding group and a friend from our last yard. Very much looking forward to it and just hoping that Captain Sensible remembers what he's famous for and stays sensible. We have had a couple of brake failures lately and his reputation is looking a bit ragged, so I've dusted off the Pelham to be on the safe side. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

Me! Please post her to me :)

Looks like a fair few have busy weekends!
Having done 3 days out in the box last weekend, I'm aiming for a quiet one this week & boxing to hack with a friend sat, & then pootling out with YO next but one on Sunday.

Bernster, shout me by fri PM if you want an extra set of hands as Munsted isn't too far off my radar.
AA, hope your gang have a good time.
DF - to echo milliepops, got a cash machine to accompany? Have got high fencing & I like boinging, tho I suspect NF might want a say in the matter, let along the mini-army of 2! :D
Good luck to those competing :)

Not near cambridge are you :p

Yes :p
Does she come with a pop up stable and a nice full ATM machine?!
Unfortunately no stable or ATM but she has a nice saddle :p.

What's happened that you can't ride, DF have I missed something?

I destroyed my right knee snowboarding at the end of January :(. I've had it reconstructed but no riding allowed for 9 months and they found more damage to it than anyone was expecting so I might be hanging up my cross country boots. All a bit depressing!

Wrong side of the UK for Cambridge :(.

She regards high fencing as a challenge! The first day she was out at our previous yard she jumped a 6 foot hedge. This would have been fine but there was an 8ft drop the other side of the hedge onto the road outside the yard. She was returned by a very bemused postman :o.

Me! Please post her to me :)

Postage might be a bit expensive - I'll see if I can find a box big enough ;).

Sorry to hear that DF. If only I was brave I could borrow her while numb nuts is off.

If you were closer I'd be very keen for you to at least have a go on her! What's your big bay lad done to himself? And how is Peaches getting on?
