As Thursday rolls around again....

So what are HHOers up to?

Kira has a show tomorrow, Medium 73 and AM92 (eep) Hoping that all the good practice we did at Adam's on Tuesday will result in some clean changes at the show..... though that could be asking too much! :o

Millie had the chiro yesterday, overdue as she was a bit wonky but essentially fine, so she's just on hacking duty over the weekend. I'm going to long arena hire with a friend who's aiming at some dressage soon so that'll be fun on Saturday, plus then going to the gala evening at Hartpury Festival of Dressage. Sunday will ride one of the ponies at the yard and hack mine... then Millie heads back to Adam's for a lesson next week.

Will aim to do a report from the show if there is anything report-worthy, after all that fuss about the forum being too quiet, must accept the challenge :p

Have fun all :D

Good luck MP & ponies!

It's Barbury time, although quieter this year as nothing in the 3*, but will go for the 2*.

My awesome village also has a music festival on so eventing will be mixed in with socialising.

Ooh early weekend start for me, Friday morning hack with my entire yard (well, my two are half the yard so that's not such a big thing) then afternoon playtime having a driving lesson from Rara and the lovely Pip pony. Then on Saturday I'm going over to give an ex-HHOer a polocrosse starter session (this totally isn't just an excuse to get me practising my racquet skills!). Then polocrosse on Sunday - either assisting with coaching the PC, or demo-ing with the pony.

Basically an entire weekend of pony games :D

Drum roll..... I have an actual competition booked :eek3:!!!

Topaz is off to do M61 and M75 before regionals, ok so we may be a bit rusty only 3 weeks back fully in work but everything is there and we just need some ring practice... I'm praying for my survival (*jokes... maybe... looks around nervously*), but hopefully we will pick right back up where we left!

I am at my first 'big-ish' show with Gary. OH is running him around the CHAPS and TGCA classes at Ashby Show as I am currently to waddley and with-child.

Good luck to everyone x

Working on the yard Friday/Saturday/Sunday - I am such a saddo, i absolutely love it :D And - far more importantly - we have our maiden voyage in the trailer/Disco on Sunday to go show jumping - I am ridiculously excited to be going out with my own transport!

Massively excited - am going to War of the Roses endurance ride doing 24km on saturday and 32km on sunday :O Only done one endurance before and never camped with my pony before so slightly over excited :D

I'm looking forward to a bit of dressage and combined training with Lenny on Sunday.

Brilliant news is that Ted doesn't need to go to horsepital for an operation on his tendon sheath/manica as his contrast x rays were all clear as were his scans. Vet coming tomorrow to see him trot up and then discuss a plan to move forward. So happy.

Off to do the 85cm amateur and BN with the big donkey on Saturday. No plans Sunday which is a rare thing these days!
Good luck all :)

Skye fell in the field being a doughnut so has been slightly off in her back in canter, so we're awaiting a visit from the physio on monday, and then last night she clattered her pastern in the field so today we're getting a visit from the vet for that- antibiotics and maybe stitches.

Ahh love having horses <3 The rest of the weekend will be spent drunk.

Sorry to read about Skye Jenni_ - hopefully she's back on form next week. Good luck to everyone else, it sounds like there are lots of fun plans this week!

I'm off to Barbury tomorrow afternoon in the hope that it will make the fences in my 80cm unaffiliated ODE on Sunday look tiny! Actually I'm really looking forward to Sunday. We went xc schooling on Tuesday and Pocholo flew over everything including some 90 fences so I can't wait to go around a course again. It's at West Wilts so hopefully the ground will be ok :D

Nothing - still broken following horseball training last week. :( Monday seeing Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon.
Have fun all who are getting to play horses this weekend.

Haven't ventured these parts in a while as been busy busy!

Fence judging at T'down tomorrow and will course walk the 90. Then back again Sunday for the 90, nice late times after 13.30 so will ride a couple on the yard before hand!

Also in the space of a week we have thought about selling out little 3.5t and sold it and nearly bought our next set of wheels a lovely old 7.5t Layland Daf - will miss the independence of being able to take myself out and about for the time being but will hopefully get my Cat C done this summer but the new box is lovely and having the extra payload will be a real god-send!

Good luck to those competing and healing vibes to those injured themselves or with ponies off game :(

Prince had the back lady and new shoes yesterday, so I'm schooling tonight, then tomorrow we're off to Blankley for a 10 mile pleasure ride :) I've not ridden that distance since I was a teenager, so I expect to be a little sore on Sunday. Then on Sunday I'm not riding, but his mum is taking him for a blast on the beach.

Good luck to everyone competing x

chief groom assistant for the hairy one, I dont do the chickens ;)

I met the chickens yesterday - they're a stunning bunch! Wouldn't know where to start with them though.

Hope the hairy one does good today :D

So, depressed by all recent attempts at jumping outings being thwarted, I made the last minute decision to go to a local showing party to do a working hunter class.

It was very well attended and a busy atmosphere, so he was rather hot to trot when I first got on. He was moving so beautifully I completely stopped looking out for people aniggering at our slightly dishevelled appearance (I promise I did really try to look neat), and was completely caught of guard when he saw the first of the devil creatures, so didn't contain the spook very well. The devil creatures are coloured minis and there was a large variety around to creep up on him, poor lad.

Having been thoroughly traumatised by tiny horses we headed into the ring, where he promptly went very green on me and so the first jump seemed to rather surprise him. We completed a not very stylish clear round (I don't know much about working hunter showing, but I'm pretty sure wiggly trot work into three fences is not what they're after). The jumping had knocked out half the class leaving just 8, and two subsequently had to leave the ring - leaving me with the gift of 6th place :D

Pictures to follow....

He seemed to think that a 75cm course was a bit of an insult :D

Hope everyone else has had a fabulous weekend

wheee!

(having said I don't do the chickens I did carry them back to the lorry yesterday, in a carrier ;) )

Fab weekend at carriage horse towers :), Skylla jumped an actual jump and Topaz made her way back into the dressage arena without incident! Will do a proper report when I stop melting *it's too dam hot*.

You wouldn't be able to tell there were chickens inside without opening it though :p

I've had a super weekend - rara gave me the best lesson, driving Pippy and playing around between cones and barrels. He's totally super and I'm now contemplating breaking Daemon to drive. Then on Saturday I was giving my mate an intro-to-polocrosse and generally having a muck around. And today I was having a one-on-one polocrosse training session with a friend's daughter, doing lots of marking and defending practice and generally having a blast :D
