Can’t see a thread yet so thought I’d start it!

I’m off to Tweseldown on Sunday for the UA80 with my 20yo, it’s our last event this season, although it’s been a short one as he’s made a superb comeback from an injury just over 2yrs ago.

Good luck at Tweseldown! We are supposed to be there tomorrow, weather dependent, for our first 100 :S Not so much the weather once there, but more the winds getting there!

Then back again on Sunday for Dressage stewarding :)

I’m taking the baby super cob to a jumping clinic tomorrow hopefully. Hack today. Big lad grounded due to trailer issues :( which is annoying as we are raring to go!
 
I was going out to meet up with friends half hour away, but with the winds forecasted, we've all cried off as its too daft to drive the boxes out for a farm ride (even if it is fab going with lots of jumps!)
Sunday, I might be helping a friend at a sj comp.

In bed off sick today... was a marathon day at work yesterday and the never ending cold from hell has floored me today :( :( hoping a big sleep will knock it on the head because I've got a show tomorrow :eek3:

Assuming I can stand up tomorrow kira has M75 and AM 96 to deliver :p
 
Off to a dessage clinic on Sunday :) TOmorrow I think it will be too windy - was going to go in the school and see how we get on with water trays :)
 
Ginger is in for a treat this weekend - RC lesson with Pammy Hutton so she'd better be on good behaviour :D she's had an easy week this week as they are currently out 24/7 so went jumping from the field on Wednesday and will do the same to go to Pammy's as it helps keep her level :)
 
Good luck at Tweseldown AandK and LP! Have fun on hacks / lessons / helping friends to the others, and get well soon MP, I hope you can make it to the comp! Pammy Hutton sounds a bit scary ;) but I'm sure you'll learn a lot LL!

I'm heading to Bicton early tomorrow morning for our Area Semi-Finals on Pocholo - we have Prelim tomorrow morning (my first Prelim since we qualified in May! It's going to feel a bit weird) in storm Brian then Novice on Sunday morning. I'm so relieved that I've rented a little lorry as there is no way I would be attempting the drive tomorrow with a trailer :eek: Apparently there is a bar and disco tomorrow night, and all 141 stables are fully booked, so it could be fun!

I was hoping to take my new horse out for the first time this weekend but with 40mph + winds forecast we probably won't go ��
 
I'm entered for the BD gypsy cob champs tomorrow, but it's looking really unlikely we'll get there with the forecast. I'm currently undecided whether to even get him ready this afternoon, or just assume it's going to be a no go :-(

Wow, very Jel of your Pammy lesson, i keep trying to build up the bravery to go - never quite got there! :S

She is ace - even if she did ask whether I was sure that my horse really was a TB :D I nearly waved his passport at her - I think it was because he spat out the polo mint she gave him :)

Love my Pammy lessons, I've never taken a "proper" dressage type, she helped me with prepping my TB for RoR showing, and last year I took the yob as much for the experience for him of being in the enormous school with lots of other horses as anything else. The joy of going on an RC organised lesson is that there are always other people to hide behind :D we're lucky as she runs them for us throughout the year, I just don't get to go as often as I would like :)

Maybe i'll just do it then! Once the season is over and we are into training brain! I loved her when watching the blue chip allstar thinggy but keep chickening out!

Thank you, feeling more positive now, have seen the course pics and it looks good for us, after our big E last week i just want to get round happy!
 
Brilliant news JFTD, you've got her then!

Nelson got clipped today, so I can get him working again, he's had no energy the last couple of weeks and I've been blaming the heat. Still no competitive or even lesson plans so just hacking and maybe some polework in the school.

I'm off dressaging tomorrow - hoping that all my work painting her white tonight means that we are presentable. Note to self - next horse is to be a dark or mud colour only!!!
 
Yes, there is a big orange thing in my stable, looking most out of place. But helpfully fitting into my rug collection nicely ;)

fingers crossed the clip makes N more energetic. Can't say I blame him - it's been weirdly and uncomfortably warm lately.

Am looking forward to Cheeri photos too :D
 
I had a group RC dressage lesson on Tuesday, a lesson with my trainer this morning (where I fell off getting on - silly pony spooked, panicked and charged with me half on), and we are hoping to do a hunt ride on Sunday which is to be better weather here that Saturday. ..

Pony went well though so has been forgiven for my bum having a close encounter with the arena fence lol...

I NEED to clip tomorrow as he's frightfully hairy, and new blades arrived today so I have no excuse.

I've been roped in as team chase groom for sunday apparently! back to doing fun stuff through others now!
 
Wow, sounds like some of you have very exciting weekends coming up! Best of luck to those competing, hope the weather doesn't muck it up for you. We have a quiet weekend planned, fitting for a jumping saddle tomorrow, which I am inordinately excited about, then a quiet road hack on Sunday followed by a late lunch with human friends.

Thank you! He is a super jumper and I haven't jumped regularly for ages so I am really looking forward to starting to do a little bit with him.. He is constantly eyeing up jumps in the school in a wistful way, he will be very happy indeed tomorrow when he's invited to have a little pop!
 
thanks for all the good health vibes, sadly they failed miserably but we went along for our show anyway... Good day out despite the weather and grotty cold, Kira stayed much more forward and positive the whole time which is *so* encouraging, happy little soul just took over in the last third of AM96 so we had changes-a-plenty which hammered the marks. Were on course for a mid 60s score until then so can't complain with 61%. first in the Medium too, good little egg.

She's done so much tempis work this week I can't hold it against her, it was bound to crop up today as she's just using her initiative. Other than that very excited by her attitude there, as this was a bogey venue for her last year but if all goes to plan we will pop back in a fortnight in tails. Whooop!

We didn't go anywhere today as the weather was awful, but one clipped for the hunt ride tomorrow, and the other will be done this evening.

Well done MP and woohoo for the tails!

The journey to Bicton went smoothly. The heavens opened during our warm up with strong winds, rain and hail. Pocholo was not impressed! He felt a bit flat and tight in the test, but sweet and obedient. I hopped of afterwarda and he did a huge pee - no wonder he was a bit tight! We ended up with 65.5% and fifth place :)

Novice in the morning, and hopefully no more rainstorms!
 
Showjumping! Nothing to be particularly proud of but I haven't jumped in 5 years so it was pretty major. I posted a while back about having some lessons at my childhood riding school now I've moved back into the area, and three weeks ago, I did in first novice dressage test on one of the school horses. I was meant to have some jumping lessons before their first show but work interfered so I saddled up and popped a pole in the warm up on a huge bay beast I'd only sat on twice before.

We jumped clear in the 80, just losing the canter for an approach to the double, and then clear in the jump off - missed a turn but was pleased enough. There were about 5 strides when it all came together - teenage me could pop around 1.10 courses all day long but my balance and core strength have got lost somewhere - and we nailed our changes on every bend. Was standing around drinking coffee when they gave out the results and spilt it over myself when I heard I'd come second.

Went into the 90, was slightly over confident and flattened the first. Got mad with myself, rode the rest like my life depended on it and was fairly pleased we got the double line perfect this time. And I was able to stand him off one upright when there wasn't enough room for a short one, so that was good. There were over 20 In the class so no placings to look for.

A quick chat with my instructor and we're going to do 90 and 95 next month, with the idea of hitting the 1m by the end of the season. And if we manage that, I'm allowed to take him out for a day's hunting in the spring!
