Well it is nearly the weekend, we are past lunchtime on Wednesday :D

Sorry, I won’t do this again......

We are off doing a tiny eventer challenge on Sunday, it’s been a while since I’ve jumped J so I’m thinking I’d better get some practice in before then :)

Pray for me that there will be no snow or ice this weekend!! I'm just desperate to go for a hack - too dark in the week, too icey at the weekend just gone! Who knew that doing something so simple would be so difficult?

I know what you mean wheels! I really should motivate myself to go clear round jumping at a local venue as they don't do it often and we need some CR practice. But I've decided it's too cold and Im just not in the right mood, so am seeing friends instead. Will do jump practice and hack instead so not v exciting for me.

Good luck to those competing! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for no frost/ice for everyone :) Nothing exciting for me, but it's my last weekend at uni before I finish for christmas, so counting down the days! I can't wait to see my boy again on the 10th!! :D

Hopefully hack on the mendips Friday am if not too frosty and I feel ok as have stinking cold (have just bought some fleece lined jods in preparation) Saturday midday meet at pub for works do followed by rugby then more drink then meal in glos (again if I feel ok) Sunday recovering and OH hopefully picking up new mattress as old one giving me aches and pains!!

Maybe taking the Clyde to a local Christmas show, to do the veteran class and then be pinched by a mob of small children for various things. But it is vey very cold, dark and wet and there's another in a fortnight so we'll see!

I know we'll enjoy it if we go but not sure I can face getting 18 hands of mostly white horse clean...especially with his feathers.

I’m having a lesson tomorrow evening but not much at the weekend. I have a Christmas party on Friday evening and staying over, so will hack on Saturday and school Sunday...or vice versa.

Fingers crossed that ice and snow don’t stop play for anyone, and enjoy your outings all!

Ponies: Arena eventing clinic on Saturday, show jumping on Sunday and pop up NSEA dressage on Monday (inset day therefore 'long weekend'. Basically a DIY ODE training weekend!

Amber - fit in round the kids as usual.....

Gosh - this is early! I've only just got over last weekend - two clinics, a very boozy 30th birthday party and a night in London just about finished me off. This weekend, we have a pole work clinic on Saturday and a horse agility clinic Sunday. I do find that I need to book things up at this time of the year otherwise it's hard to feel motivated. Good luck to all those out and about - have fun, and keep safe. :) x

Supergroom is off on holiday so I’m on my own for the next few days.

Busy day today as I need to do the yard, ride five and then have the arena harrowed and ready for tonight’s clinic by 3pm. Then tonight I need to swap the jumps for dressage boards in preparation for running through my next dressage test with my trainer on Friday.

Also have the vet coming to check T and Beau’s teeth. Having contact issues with Beau at the moment so fingers x-ed it’s a simple fix as he’s been going really well recently.

Saturday will be a quiet day at home and then on Sunday we’re off to Muirmill for their UA dressage finals. Hoping for late-ish times so I don’t have to rush to get the yard done before we go. :)

This is a good week this week!

My new jump saddle arrived today, I am so excited - I have lusted after this saddle for about 3 years and I finally have one <3 Cant wait to pop it on tonight and take it for a spin!

Ruby had a sports massage last night so she should be feeling fabulous, our lady is really pleased with her development, as am I, but its great to get feedback from someone who has seen her since her gangley 4yo days.

I have a flat lesson on Friday, where i'm hoping we can start looking at a music floor plan, quiet day Saturday and then a jump lesson with a new instructor on Sunday which i'm really looking forward to :)

Blood_magik - can we have a yard update? i dont think we've seen it in its finished state - i've also lost track of all your lovely horses! :D

Hope everyone has fun this weekend and the weather is kind to you all!

Jump lesson on Saturday - could be interesting as haven't jumped in a couple of weeks and I've got a lass riding for me in the week at the moment as I can't get to the yard in daylight so have barely ridden at all myself!

Nonsense lots of people know what they are doing :p :D :D

lol I know what I'm doing, just got too much of the working week left to go before I can start thinking about it :p

Show for Kira on Saturday, a welly round M75 as a warm up and then hopefully be in the right frame of mind to steer round A102 :eek3:
Feel a little underprepared, I wasn't planning another advanced for a few weeks but it's our last change to do A102 until feb as everyone is running 105 round here at the moment, it seems!

Will clip Salty a bit too, I had a quick go and got her chin off and a tiny bib which she was very good natured about so hopefully won't be a problem. Friend coming to meet Salty on Sunday. Also need to spend a bit of time up with the geriatrics, might put them in together ;)

Nothing terribly exciting in IHW land,
Got a crack of dawn dressage lesson tomorrow,
A crack of dawn hack on Saturday because we are confined to barracks the rest of the day (blumming hunt, again!). Giant will also get clipped, can’t decide if half or full naked though. Then I’m having a ‘me’ day on Sunday - lie in, cooked breakfast, slob about sort of affair - I can’t wait!

Good luck to everyone competing :).

Well today I managed to finally sit on Maddie after nearly 10 months off! I wasn't originally planning to ride (just lunge to see how she's moving) but decided I couldn't wait any longer :). She was foot perfect. Only walked and did a tiny bit of trot as I don't think it's fair to ask more of her while she's under-muscled. She's settled into the yard and her new herd wonderfully.
As a bonus she went barefoot about 5 months ago and is sound on the large stone surface on the yard that most are lame on, even if they've been BF for a while. She's also moving better in the school than she has done for about 2 years. I'm over the moon!
I'm going to take her for a 5 minute walk up the road this weekend as she's not fit enough to do anything more than that and my back won't tolerate riding for more than a few minutes at a time.

Flat work lesson tomorrow, so will hopefully run through our tests.
Back to Sparsholt again on Saturday for 2 more Novice tests. He did really well last time so hoping to build on that, but have done very little schooling so not feeling prepared. He also started his 'I don't like horses coming towards me in the warm up' thing again, so will see how he goes.
and then no more BD til January.
Probably a hack on Sunday

My 6yo and I are going hunting to the children's meet with our ponies.... Scared and excited in equal measure 😲

And a WH lesson on Sunday...

Fiona

Heading off to Morris this weekend for the Cat1. Not been able to ride for a couple of days because of weather so could be fun!!

Another weekend of working equitation training, this time with the wonderful Kim Peterson from Australia. I'm grateful to be riding quite early on both days - today is the first official day of summer and it's here with a vengeance over the weekend.

normally never brave enough to post but we only went and won. My horse is amazing for carrying me round. still sinking in

That’s brilliant, huge well done! That’s not enough info of course, we need a blow by blow account of the day :D but I bet you are over the moon :) ;)

Not quite the weekend I had anticipated - J’s owner and I were not able to renegotiate his loan agreement, so he will be going back to her shortly. I’m gutted, but that’s loaning for you I suppose!

I didn’t bother competing today, there didn’t seem to be any point - he can have a nice relaxing few weeks off now until he goes back. Not quite sure what I’ll do with myself!

Oh wow levrier really sorry to hear that! Take your time to figure out exactly what you want from a horse and get circling those ads!! It's not a bad time of year to have a bit of horsey free time.

I finally got to hack, nice enough weather for the time of year and M was a brilliant boy. Another hack planned for this afternoon and then back to groundwork during the week as there isn't really enough time to ride after work.

So sorry Lev, a great shame for you both, really, as I know he means a lot to you and he's got a great life with you. But there will be another, opportunities present themselves now and then, and you'll be in the position to grab them x

We had a good day out yesterday, a mixture of dread and optimism when I saw it was Lady I judging at Allens Hill - she certainly doesn't give marks away but on the other hand, when you deserve them you get them :p

Mission 1 accomplished - Kira got into the ring for our warm up class m75 and motored all the way - I possibly wellied her a little :o just to make sure, but she took me from start to finish and made it feel easy. Judge actually said we were a bit onward bound.... would be disappointing on another horse, but on Kira it was music to my ears! :D

Went into the empty warm up round the back before the advanced 102, the main warm up was full of posh giant horses preparing for the PSG class and I knew I needed to stay in a positive frame of mind ;) She had a little spook round and then settled to some tempis, and in we went.
Apart from a minor issue right at the start when she forgot how to trot :o (so we picked up the inevitable 3, only 2 movements into the test :o) she was super, tried really hard, got her tempis, did the piri-circles well enough, got an 8 for a change on the centre line :cool3: few little wobbles but enough to clock up a PSG- qualifying score on 63.9%
Not a world beater but there's plenty more to come!

No pics as I was on my own but here she is looking pretty happy afterwards

And we took down the fence between Millie and her new buddy this morning - Twiggy wandered off to investigate Millie's half, and Millie snorted off charging about. Typical... :rolleyes3:
