Weekend plans :-)

Nothing much for us this weekend, we should have been going to somerford to do the farm ride, but................. Its my daughters 21st, she went out last night and is feeling a little rough. Bless her, she NEVER drinks, but she had a few glasses of wine and a jager bomb. Shes just munching on her unicorn birthday cake, and may just venture out later to give the pony a pat !!!

Good luck to everyone competing this weekend. Sorry to hear about your loan home going back Levrier.

I was an embarrassment this morning...woke up at 5.00am, looked at pitch black morning and listened to the rain, rolled over and went back to sleep.

Clyde had a lovely little hack out at a civilised time in the sun, instead of getting washed for the show. Lazy or what??

Well done to everyone with a better work ethic than me!

We had a fab show today - well worth getting up at 5am for. Super boy was 1st in his warmup test and then he only went and won the elementary final with a new PB of 70.74%!

Wow well done! New arrival looks smart too!

Had a fab dressage lesson on friday night, she's so much more confident in her lateral work, its taken a long while but i can begin to alter things rather than holding on and hoping!

Saturday i went to dressage with mum and she got a 4th and 1st in 2x prelims which was excellent, he first win ever and she got a little trophy too!

Then today I managed to do a bit of Christmas shopping and then had a jump lesson, with my new saddle and a new instructor! It was great to get some new feedback, and a different view on things is always helpful! Also felt much more secure in the new saddle and think it will really benefit us as we progress :)

Lazy one for me really. P is on 2 weeks rest and Diva had the weekend off. Friend asked me to take her daughters 16.2hh to the beach with her on Sunday so we set off early yesterday morning but when trotting down the prom, his shoe flew off. He seemed ok, but he's had such a bad run of luck this year and been off a lot, that we decided to change our plans and do a walking hack instead.
I rarely ride anything that big anymore and I'd never even sat on him til yesterday, but he was a good lad and it was nice to be up on a big horse again.

Lovely sash there BM - well done on your results! Fab pictures LP. Pleased to see your update on the other thread Lev - a lovely early Christmas present for you. Well done to everyone else. :)

We had a freezing pole work clinic on Saturday, and moved on to doing some raised poles. Those who know me well will know that this is a big thing for me! Then on Sunday morning we headed out to do our second horse agility clinic. We managed to get our run through of the Christmas starter course filmed so we will be entering for the first time. There are 10 obstacles in all and they have to be filmed without a break. I was really pleased with how calmly she dealt with it all, but not having entered before, I don’t know what the standard is. We all have to start somewhere though! I am actually enjoying it more than I thought I would, and am looking forward to having a go with Cam in the Spring. I've posted some photos and a video here for anyone interested: https://www.facebook.com/CassieCamCo/posts/991652710973756

Obligatory Christmas shot of Cassie - my husband reckons this counts as horse abuse. ;)

Lovely reports, folks.

M was at a training clinic with her young rider on Saturday, concentrating on angles, tight lines and skinnies, and finishing with an enormous oxer :eek3:. The pair did well and finished with pats and cuddles, this is far more advanced stuff than I have ever jumped.

T has a bruised foot, so her return to ridden work is postponed yet again, boo.

Wow, nice photo overload this week. Loving the shots of LP, mostly because you've taken the care to match your jump ;) New pony looks very smart, too, BM, but not as smart as the sashed pony!

Argh x posted with awesome barrel photos too! Very cool!

Interesting to see the agility video, nikicb. I sometimes wonder about doing some with some combination of my lot, particularly the pool noodle obstacles appeal as a nice photo opportunity...

Another weekend of working equitation training, this time with the wonderful Kim Peterson from Australia. I'm grateful to be riding quite early on both days - today is the first official day of summer and it's here with a vengeance over the weekend.

Can we get an update on how the working eq went? Also something I'd love to do.

How did your DTM clinic go the other week? must have missed the update - have you used the wrist speaker yet?

Son and I had a super time at the children's meet in Saturday. There were tons of adults out so we stayed right at the back and jumped loads of little jumps. His pony was strong and he had a few unscheduled canters and a fall where pony slipped on the flat but more positives than negatives. My Connie was fab. Excited but controllable and jumped a few bigger fences and a ditch as well as the little ones.

Sunday we had WH clinic, and son had a good round. Fences not v big but good for confidence.

Then it was me and I think instructor forgot I was a wuss because we ended up jumping round 70cm with one stop at a white skinny and one like down. I was over the moon 😁

They deserve their rest day today....

I’m going to sneak in the back of this thread, though cheating as covers previous weekend.
After comp report a couple of weeks ago (arena XC) where we had a couple of runs out at skinnies, we had a practice at some skinnies in our lesson then did arena eventing last Sunday. Still just 65-75 cm. This time he didn’t bat an eyelid at the skinnies, unfortunately knocked a pole off on fence 6 , but managed to come 6th and get a frillie and a box of Maltesers! No photos, don’t want to embarrass myself following LeannePip and the others!

no, no, come on... you won a prize! You therefore owe us photos! (or malteasers, your choice :p)

Haha, sorry, I gave Mr Reacher the Malteasers for driving.
OK, here you go

Entering the 65-75cm again next week, they don't have a 75-85cm, the next class up is 85 - 95 cm...

This is my 6yo and his pony hunting on Saturday...

Fiona

Wow! The other photo of the two of you is too cute :).

Nice result for Kira, MP, such a cute face <3.
Glad everyone else has had fun!

We hacked both days, just 10 minutes up the road and back to condition her feet. I cannot believe how sound she is on the big, sharp, stones on the driveway and am kicking myself for not taking her shoes off years ago. YO said she's got a textbook heel-first landing.
I'm struggling with applying lateral pressure with my bad leg because of my knee so might have a play with just one spur later in the week - when she's fitter and more sensitive to the leg it'll be less of an issue but I need to be able to apply the pressure to get her more sensitive to it (if that makes sense!). Any alternative ideas welcome!

What absolutely gorgeous pony pics! Fiona both your pony and your son’s pony are so very sweet :)

Reacher I love your pics, particularly the second one - I really must try some arena Eventing but I keep wimping out!

DF your horse (or pony?) has a gorgeous face, I adore chestnuts with lovely broad blazes like that

Hoping I will be posting some pics next weekend :)

Love all these reports, but Fiona definitely has the cutest pics! So jealous that you got your lad riding, neither of mine were interested at all.

Hunting off lead at age 6 is pretty darn impressive!

He's not at all keen on mucking out sadly... Wee girls seem a lot more into pony care lol 😂

We need more brakes before we try a repeat scenario.....

As I said above I am enjoying it more than I thought I would. I like the fact there is an element of progression and the monthly competitions - I joined the International Horse Agility Club, membership is pretty reasonable at £30 which includes one horse registration, 2 entries at £5 each, and a shiny badge!! I am sure it is down to whoever your local group organiser is, but ours is run by a really friendly lady who welcomes all sorts and guides us without being too strict about how you do/don't approach the obstacles. Cassie jumped the noodles the first time she did them - sadly no pictures. :D

It was fab! Gaynor is such a talented lady and I really like the music we picked out. The floor plan is busy enough to keep Cassie's attention so hopefully we can present it well when the time comes. Gaynor is currently working on our CD which we should get in the next week or so. I've got as far as charging my speaker up, I still need to sync it with my phone, but it looks like a good bit of kit. :)
