Thursday again! What's everyone up to?

Quiet one for us, well relatively speaking - all about Kira this weekend as we have a lesson tomorrow, yay, and then test riding the PSG at a clinic on Sunday. Feel a bit anxious about that which is daft really, having done it at 4 shows now including with TJOD but for some reason I'm expecting to be told that we shouldn't be doing it :o

Salty had her 3rd flu jab yesterday and having reacted a bit to the earlier ones I've planned a few quiet days for her.

Have fun everyone :)

We are off to Bramham on Saturday to watch the cross country. Hoping the weather will hold out for us!

Sunday have a riding lesson, then probably some training for dogs.

Never ending!

Hope everyone else will have a fabulous weekend

I really can't imagine anyone (who's worth anything) would say that you shouldn't be doing it, MP!

I am going down to the Kent Target polocrosse weekend at Jason Webb's - I'm just doing the training on Saturday, not the tournament day, as we're back up in Suffolk coaching an Intro to Polocrosse session for some Pony Club folk on Sunday. Training day looks epic - Skye's previous owners are there, and will be coaching my group (England ladies captain :eek3: ), so it should be an interesting day. Just as well, I wouldn't tackle the Dartford Crossing twice in one day otherwise :p

Couple of horse viewings lined up.

Was going to take Diva to an Intro on Sunday morning but it’s my friends little boys 1st birthday party in the afternoon and I don’t want to be late so might have to give the dressage a miss.

Went for a gorgeous hack in the sun today but M will be off for the rest of the weekend now as I'm about to fly over to England to spectate at the Philippe Karl clinic.

I am very excited - haven't been to one in over a year because of OH being very ill last year.

Busy one for us...

Max and Ginny are doing an unaffiliated ODE at Eland Lodge on Saturday then Amber is doing an BE80T at Speetley on Sunday.

I will be riding Max so I have hopped on a couple of times this week to get used to him again. He feels very small!!

Did a xc clinic yesterday to practice for a ode I’m doong there in two weeks time, so not out this weekend. Will practice my test, have some homework to do from my sj lesson last weekend and hacking. But I managed to do my back again putting his stud keepers in yesterday so may not be able to do any of that need to find a different way of doing his studs as this is the 2nd time now! Doesn’t hurt when I ride, yay, but doesn’t half hurt the rest of the time.

Lounging around at the county show. Managed 11.5 hours solid of watching nothing but horses today, same planned for tomorrow and Saturday is quieter on the showig front so will visit the goats, rabbits, hound day at the dog show and check out the shopping.

It's a bit sad as the daft clydesdale was entered for showing and harness but his fooot and feather aren't recovered enough for a county show - so bittersweet because he looks lovely and we'd worked so hard for this - and at 20, there probably won't be another one for him.

Sunday, if I have the energy, riding school are having a clear round jumping day so ambling along to try 70 and 80.

Running an RC Area qualifier. Spent last 2 days setting up, snagging today then on feet all weekend. Dressage and RT sat and SJ and style on Sunday.

Going to have a biiig sleep Sunday night!

I read this thread every week so thought it's about time I joined in! I have a lesson on Saturday just to polish our flat work a bit then we are off to Kirkley Hall for the BE90 on Sunday. Early start for us as our dressage is at 8.30

Less than a week until Alnwick Ford so Raz will be swotting up on his dressage test - we have a lesson today and I’ll leave the boards out over the weekend so we can have another run through.

Ellie Bellie went to another show today. She jumped round the novice for one down but I’m not too fussed about that as she didn’t even look at any of the scary fences - the champagne bottles and giant tennis balls don’t look particularly inviting, if I’m honest.

I might take Beau to jump round something tomorrow if I can get our brakes to work. He’s been full of himself recently so I think I might have to tire him out a bit before we start jumping.

Blue is off again - a bruised sole this time - and Henry had his dodgy hock medicated on Wednesday so is having another quiet day today before starting back with his KS rehab.

My new m2m boots arrived yesterday so I’ll be spending my weekend breaking them in so they’re ready for our area festival next weekend. :)

Good luck to all out competing.

I have been a bit rubbish really, i see this thread each week and have a look but despite having been out and about, i haven't yet posted so here are my plans.

Going up to eland lodge to do their 90cm unaff ODE. Not been there before but i have been told its nice, so looking forward to a new course. We have done Sapey 90 a few weeks ago and our dressage which is usually rubbish was great and i broke the 40 mark. However i had a pole in the SJ and a stop XC. My fitness is not quite up to scratch and i have been working on it a bit so i will see what happens this weekend. Also ordered those Haas brushes to try with a 30% discount from craftwear equestrian so hopefully they arrive soon and i can give them a go.

Good luck to everyone else.

Pip and I are doing are first XC clinic, absolutely pooping my pants already. It was my daughters idea, id had a few gins when I agreed to do it. Must stop organising things when ive had a few.

So much work behind the scenes to put on the events we all go out and enjoy at the weekends. Quick round of applause for all the organisers, officials and volunteers out there!

We were supposed to be going showing over the weekend but I lost my boy unexpectedly on tuesday so now I'll be avoiding the shows and attempting to ignore facebook

Sorry to hear that D_w, how awful :(

*joins in applause for organisers etc*

We had an absolutely brilliant fun lesson today, chipping away at the quality of the canter piris, learning how to ride the inter1 zig zag properly, skipping through her 4, 3, and 2 tempis and then doing some 1s which I am still a numpty at but we're definitely on the way :D Going to seek out a schoolmaster lesson I think to see if I can get a bit more practice.

Compulsory outrageously cute cob snap

I'm taking my big cob to do a spot of BD as a warm up outing before Area Festival first round next weekend. It's a new venue for him so may be a bit messy!

Very cute pic!

A couple of people at the PK clinic today have been working on zig zags and he gave them some very interesting exercises that instantly improved them. So good to see

what kind of things? it's SOOOOOO much to organise, I can only imagine what it's like to ride the 3-6-6- 6- 3 in the grand prix! :eek3: I can only really practice if I do an arena hire because I can't fit enough into the short school at home. Will be OK when I get the pattern right and when she lets me position her better for the changes :D

Off to Euston for scurry at the rural pastimes country fair with C :) on the big countdown to Sandringham FEI now at the end of the month!

I don't think my explanation will do the exercises justice - plus it depends on what the issues are as to which exercises are used - 2 riders, 2 different exercises per rider as they needed different exercises for different directions.

After four classes with two ponies at a county show last Saturday, and riding club dressage champs with my boy last Sunday, and lessons for son on Monday and Tuesday evenings, I'm seriously considering doing nothing at all this coming weekend.

I've entered another show, but Fionn is still being fussy after having his teeth done, the ground is so hard, and we could have a nice weekend doing things in the shade, and collecting son's new birthday present kitten...

That sounds a bit wussy doesn't it, but I am just exhausted :( and still in work with hour drive home...

Fiona

Sorry for your loss D_w :(.

Kira is, as always, the cutest horse EVER <3! What your doing with her sounds really interesting MP - maybe someday I'll get to use the tricks and training methods you share :).

Good luck to everyone competing and I hope everyone at home has fun.
My trimmer was 2 and a half hours late today but Mads has finally been trimmed which means she can fit into her boots again. I'm out with old uni friends tomorrow but hoping to go around the top common on Sunday, as well as doing some pony pampering as Mads is minging and needs a mane trim and a bath.

Sorry to hear that D_w.
Good luck everybody sounds like lots of busy horses!!
I'm off to do a hopefully steady 80k on Saturday with my arab, she has been pretty accident prone this year, and at 18, with a mental age of 2, I try and do a steady long one before letting the handbrake off a bit in a race ride.
Then Sunday i'm taking my ISH to do 40k. She went xc schooling last week, and the endurance and a completely different lifestyle are clearly working with her behavioural issues, as she is much more willing than she was previously, she cut her leg last time, and trotted up lame at the end having been amazing, so hopefully we will put that behind us!

Thanks guys (sorry I don't know how to multi quote) . I don't think it's quite sunk in yet, I keep catching myself thinking about shows later in the season.

I hope everyone has great weekend's with their plans and that they all go well

Very sorry DW, hugs for you!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. We have had a quiet week here it's been very wintery and wet. Only XC training this weekend and it was amazing. Tackled some big fences and very technical combinations that felt so easy. i just love my pony!
