Weekend Plans?

Well done BM! And sorry to hear about the window, Bernster, what pants timing :(

Salty was a bit thick in the lesson today but she always is at home, she's like Jekyll and Hyde :D totally different horse when we're out and about ;) Anyway, she got her bum kicked a bit about being in front of the leg ;) and managed about 3 minutes of nice work, proof below :D
Everyone else booked onto the clinic had a good time too so altogether a good day :)

Not our day. The borrowed pony got her legs tangled in an oxer and fell, sending one daughter flying. Heart stopping moment when she (daughter) landed on her head but was ok. Other daughter was clear to the last combination - a triple with a water tray in the middle element which I think was a bit mean! Max jumped confidently in but saw the tray at the last minute and slammed on the brakes sending Izzy crashing into the fence. A&E trip..... Thankfully nothing broken but out of action for a while. HORSES!! Why do we do it. My nerves are shot. I need a drink!
 
Had one of those days where things go surprisingly well. After a few stops SJing we have been working with our physio to build muscle, doing lots of different exercises, however our new regime only started 2 weeks ago so didn’t expect much from our prebooked ODE this weekend. Went planning just to do dressage and maybe pop a warm up jump, as I was feeling quite negative about SJ’ing and didn’t want to set myself up to fail.

Dressage went okay, tension in the canter for both of us so need to do more work on that. Headed down to SJing and it looked quite nice, warm up jumps went fine so decided to pop round. Did a very positive round, one stop which I just didn’t ride, but good bar that.

We had passed the SJing so thought why not go XC as it’s our favourite. So flew round for a clear. Ended up coming 6th! Very pleased despite it looking bad on paper we overcame a lot of personal achievements. :)
 
Just got home from camp - 2 lessons with Dan Watson, one with Charlie Hutton (and I won another with him in the raffle!), one test practice session, 2 balanced rider sessions, one condition scoring/weighbridge session (Cassie scored 5 on the 1-9 scale), probably around 25 miles (or at least it felt it!) walking back and forth between lorry and stable, and I'm utterly exhausted. I'll be back later in the week with some pictures!

Well done to everyone on their results, commiserations to those suffering from illness and injuries. xx

That sounds scary. Especially when it's your children.
 
I've been training, training, training! I've got a driving trial next weekend and I am determined to not let my pony down. The cones section is my nemesis, so this weekend has been spent driving round and through cones, and over the top of the odd one :lol: By the end it was much better although I think both Leo and myself would be glad to never see another cone again!
 
We had a fantastic day at our comp on Saturday. Coolie and I struggle in dressage, to the point I had pretty much given up ever progressing our scores much. But I have been making a real effort to go and do more dressage and it seems to have paid off. This was our third non-eventing outing in a row, and the third, consistently improved score we have received. Not a single 5, and no less than 5 7's! For us who aren't made for stressage it is a huge deal. Even better was coming 4th which is the highest we have ever place in dressage.

Then we went and won both our SJ classes (although one was on a technicality!). So please with my old man.

Yesterday we put some lights up for the arena paddock and I had super productive ride on the young man. I am feeling very chuffed all round.

Sounds like a fun filled weekend of thrills and spills all round, very glad to hear no one was hurt !

Well we had a lovely day on Saturday at BCA doing Novice DTM for our riding club, horse very much more relaxed (probably because i was) and apart from a slight navigational error (mine) just before our last centre line to halt. I was super pleased with our test, scored 64.79%. our team were not not placed as there were some really super high scoring combinations there, but still super pleased with how everything went, just love DTM, it is such great fun. it really felt for the first time we are starting to work as a team :-)
 
Had a nice weekend hacking round thetford forrest, event saw 2 red deer stags! Thankfully we'd passed them before realising they were there so horses were OK about it. Also got to have a 2nd go with a Garrocha pole, Daisy's not bothered but I am. I'm so clumsy I'm really worried I'll either drop it and spook her or accidentally bash her with it. But we both survived unscathed and even managed a few turns under it.
