Weekend plans?

Phew what a weekend! Yesterdays arena hire was bloody great, if a bit cold and wet. Henry was such a super baby, taking it all in and doing a super job at jumping in a nice rhythm. He got a bit excited the first time we cantered a little spread but calmed down the next time over it! Coolie had a nice few rounds too, I kept it short and easy for him though.

Today we had our first adult riders rally. Henry was so much more relaxed than I thought he would be. He didn't care about everything going on around him, just focusing on what I was asking him to do. I am very pleased with how he is coming on. He is such a laid back little guy, and once he understand what is expected of him he just gets on with it!

Hope everyone else had a lovely weekend!

Please send the rain East, thanks :P Henry is so cute!

Took friends daughters horse to the beach this morning. Was strange being back on something big (he’s 16.2) when all mine are now 15hh and under!

We rode out to the sea, went for a paddle and then had a good canter back to the prom.

I’ll be riding Millie this evening- probably some schooling and then finish off with a short hack. Poor Diva has done something to her her hind leg and is lame in trot so she’s off for a few weeks. It’s one thing after another with her at the moment.

Sorry about your dog Wheels. We lost the yard cat on the road this week and everyone has been very sad. They're part of the family.

Our arena is so deep that it's niggling one of the Appy's old problems so the vet has told us to keep out of it. Popped her over to the outdoor at the posh yard next door this morning and she was fab. Like a different horse on their surface. Giving me a bit of a dilemma really because even when it rains our surface is just "ok" and she obviously needs better than that with her issues.

Surreal moment on the 2 min ride home when a car pulled over and it was the lady who bred and then hand reared her. Its the best thing about Appys - those markings do stand out!!

Good luck Fiona in the M&Ms - which show is that?

Unfortunately I lost one of my dogs this morning after surgery on wednesday so I am going to hack out now and probably again tomorrow, can't face much else.

Wish you all luck and fun whatever you're up to this weekend

Aww no... I'm so sorry. We lost our old x at a year ago today too 😣😣 Hugs x x x

Castlewellan.... btw..

Fiona

Sorry to hear about your dog wheels. It’s so hard losing them . Take care of yourself.

No placing for Aria in the show jumping this weekend . Had a pole in the first class , and an unusual 2 down in the next class . It was very warm and she just goes flat in the heat , so will attribute it to that . She was very well behaved , and we had a lovely relaxed day out . Then my daughter and I had a lesson today. Both ponies jumped fab. Daughters position is so much better and Finns confidence is going great guns, taking out strides when he’s have normally chipped in. Then Pips turn , she was so cool . She loved it and instructor was very pleased with how we have both progressed . I will take that ! Great weekend

We had a fab time at the Scottish Trec Championships, first attempt at Trec and we managed 2nd place in the level one pairs class. It was suitably challenging but not terrifying so we were able to really enjoy it. My pony was an absolute star all weekend, I'm so pleased with him.

We didn’t have a very good outing yesterday... turned up expecting it to be indoors and it was out so Raz turned into a fire breathing dragon and spooked at everything.

On a slightly more positive note, beau is sound again after being lame on Saturday.

And on an even happier note - my new puppy is coming home on Wednesday and then I’ve been approved to adopt another bun from a local rescue, and he will hopefully be coming home in August if Poppy decides she likes him :)

Well done everyone :) sorry about your dog Wheels :(
We survived a very hot Welsh Champs, have done separate report. Salty is going to Adam's tomorrow as Kira is shattered :D eeek :eek3:

Thanks everyone, she will be very sorely missed, so full of character.

Took M XC schooling tonight to cheer myself up. It was good fun and M was much better behaved than last week where he was flat out everywhere lol

Well Salty did her first lesson at AM dressage this afternoon :) very basic stuff, I expect Adam was bored to tears compared to doing Kira's lessons but it was really productive, just getting her round the arena in control, in a decent trot and in decent balance.

Bit of accidental canter, this was because the other horse knocked the wall :rolleyes3: so we had to hoof off in an ugly fashion, obviously

but there was plenty of civilised stuff and the general sense that when she's concentrating she will now progress quite fast, because her balance is good and she is fairly straight and supple, plus she's getting better to the aids. Even the naughty patches were pretty earth bound today compared to previous explosions.

Keep on keeping on :)

awww, BM - what a cute puppie, congratulations

AA - gorgeous photo, what class did you do ? Is she full ID ?

Adding this as it was from last weekend, hopefully won’t confuse people with multiple WP posts!

Did a sj and xc clinic at Munstead. Ground was hard but not too bad and we didn’t do a lot. Kept the sj fences very small and worked on straightness, rhythm and just being tidier generally in my riding. Did really well. Then did similar for the xc, did most of the 60 course and a few from the 80 which I was really pleased with as it’s taken a year to get my confidence back. But looking at this photo, these fences are pretty teeny really!

Was also pleased as tried lots of things to help manage the heat inc taking ice packs to cool the water. Got stuck on the m25 in the heat on the way back but fortunately F was fine when I unloaded, hadn’t even broken a sweat!
