Wahhhhh this seems like an awfully long week. Anyway, Thursday afternoon... what's everyone got planned?

quiet one here, i'm having to be uber patient now after 2 weeks without transport I am desperate to crack on, but have to remember how green Darcy is and it wouldn't benefit him to be out and about multiple times a week. So a bit of schooling and hacking and then on Tuesday we're going to an ROR clinic which will be a group lesson in the evening so lots of new things for him.

Have fun everyone, hope the weather is kind... :/

Nothing here, my poor discovery is in need of some work after Fergus sat on it the other day (in his defence, he was being booted by Skye at the time - it was all a bit of a disaster). So no towing for me. And there's nothing doing anyway, so I think I need to find a new hobby for winter. Maybe I'll take Dae to do some sj when the disco is fixed.

Hope everyone has more interesting plans and better weekends!

Not Perfect Orange?! oh dear. Hope it's not too difficult/expensive!

She's being a total knob at the moment. It's why she's not been mentioned so much. It's not her fault, she's young, she's just pushing a few boundaries under saddle, and I shouldn't have let her and f get into that position in the first place, but that's life (or life with me anyway as I'm an idiot). Not having an arena is making it hard to fix too - it's easy to live without one with established horses but...

Anyway I'm mostly glad Fergs doesn't seem to have done too much damage to himself - quite lucky given what he's done to the car and how she was going at him :( The car is just a car after all.

Worth getting some regumate into her JFTD? Her cycle will be shutting down and it can make some of them tricky. Probably not that but might be a quick fix

Not a bad idea at all. I might give it a try, thanks.

I mean, it's fine, I'm just not enjoying the weather and grumpy about winter and all that. She's alright, I just shouldn't have let her get into the situation she did, so it's really myself I'm angry with, and I'm blaming the situation and stuff when really it's all my fault!

Ooh, two oranges in one thread haha. Sorry to hear about the car troubles.

With winter coming, and the dark and rain, it aint helping my mood. But bright spots are coming - my ins and I have a cunning plan to help me with my jumping, despite it being too dark in the school to do any actual jumping. We're going to incorporate alternate lessons in the jump saddle working over poles to help my position, balance and effectiveness of my aids. Currently my 'aid' is a gigantic pony club kick which generally has minimal impact on F's way of going (really, some horses are so forgiving of muppet riders). I'm feeling like we have a plan though and this should help me feel more confident with actual jumping. Which I also need to do more of, but when it's light enough to actually see the poles.

Then 2nd excitement is that we're off for our first hunt outing this Sunday. Awwwwwwwwwesome. F and I will be very excited. He will manifest it by pooing everywhere and being a fidget. I will manifest it be going green and feeling sick. But after the first run, we'll both settle down and enjoy ourselves immensely. I hope.

I know you're a bit far away but we have loads of Disco panels and parts here if you get stuck JFTD.
Hope everyone has fun!

We were supposed to be hunting Sunday but are now going to Malvern 4x4 autojumble instead because M has been a tit all week and I don't want to die. Saturday will be hacking and working on our contact issues a bit more (booooring). I'm also looking for a stallion for next spring <exciting>.

Young horse is doing first Novice dressage, having done only two previous dressage tests. First one intro 55% - whinnied the whole round and lost the plot. Second Prelim much improved and settled 81%. Who knows what will happen this 3rd time!

We are off for a test and teach lesson on Saturday that I am really looking forward to. Never competed before and have our first outing start of November so I’m hoping this will help us prepare.

For Sunday, I’ve hired a local venue for some jumping training. Can jump at home but just fancied going away 😁.
Have a lovely time everyone!

Cheers, I'm trying to work out if I can do it myself and save a few quid. I'm not to be trusted with these sort of things ;)

Stallion sounds exciting!

Hope Fergus and the car are both ok.
Good luck to those braving the weather.

I'm just back from a Mark Rashid Aibado clinic in Scotland so I will be playing around with some of the approaches I have learned with the horses.

Thanks. Will we get a report? I'm rather envious!

I am entered (on B, not just on my own 2 feet!) at a hunter trial on Sat, 1st time for B Fuzzy.
However, they are doing a ground inspection tomorrow early afternoon and after today's rain, am expecting it to be cancelled or postponed. I'm going on my own as cant find a spare friend to come, so instead of course walking, I might have to just follow the muddy trails of hoof prints lol.
Having been at coal face all week, I'll get her part clipped tomorrow morning before riding.

Have fun whatever you are doing, and good luck to those competing :)

I can finally join in this thread and not just lurk, yay!! (Just in time for the depths of winter, eh!)

I am hacking to the yard of a GP rider near me for my first lesson on the new beast, slightly worried she's going to be thinking 'what's this numpty doing trying to ride this horse' as he's very athletic and isn't anything close to easy, but I can only try my best right?

Huntinnnnnnng and can’t wait to tell Boggle!

Also very chuffed my beloved 1998 racemaster flew her MOT.. for the fourth year running. But is now for sale if anyone is looking ;)

I am tentatively looking, could I ask for more info via message please? (I assume it's a 3.5t if it's having an MOT? I don't have the license for anything heavier)

Sorry to hear about the landy @JFTD-WS

I am hoping to go on the last hound exercise of the year but the weather is threatening to spoil it. Apparently the river is VERY high where we are going and more rain expected tomorrow 😔

Last week's was cancelled and they ran a little hunt ride from kennels instead so fingers crossed if this one cancels they do similar because it is now too late to enter anything else.
